yeah, E30 ABS isn't over zealous. if you're careful you can still threshold brake without ABS interfering. And generally, if it does come on you're probably doing something wrong. It's also useful for slalom sections on slippery/wet courses with left-foot braking.

No it was not A SHIT LOAD of snow. It was just more then my piece of shit driving could handle. All season tires with 50% tread did not belong in those conditions. If I had known it would snow I would have never taken that car up there in the first place.
      Fixed

I drove my brother's vert home when he took it to church with almost bald summer tires. Had an ice storm and he would not drive it. I turned a 25min trip into an hour, but made it safely.

You spun out on a flat road with 50% remaining on ALL seasons in .5" of snow. The e30 is not to blame.

Some cars are going to have a much better chance in those situations/environments, however.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. Driving in the snow is harder than dry, obviously but, if you take your time you'll be fine. It's the ice that gets you.

LOL at Californians thinking they know how to drive in snow. The drivers around me suck enough in rain, I don't want to imagine them in snow.

Not flat. Just the angle of the picture. Up hill. Not strait ether. Right hand sweep.
Maybe I don't know how to drive in snow. Again I was not trying to brag about my snow driving skill. Just trying to say I was happy for my car and passengers and the experience I got at my CCC class.
Good thing you are so fucking great and are here to put queefs like me in my place. Keep it up bro. Your the shit for sure.

BMW is my rallycar, but subie is my daily. I can drive RWD in the snow fine (did it for years), but AWD and Dunlop Wintersports makes it child's play :)

this isn't even close to being stuck :)

Omg lol, i love driving in the snow. i lost grip in a turn past the police station at like 5 am. so i stepped on the gas and made the KKKLEANEST drift i have ever done right past a cop that was posted at the station.
                    He briskly pulled me over
I got away because i argued that I have a RWD car with no traction control, and bald summer tires.

Im gonna do it again this year : P

Also, some people are not afraid to venture away from their comfort zone. I don't know you, but if I had to guess, I'd say right now you live within 10-15 miles of where you grew up. You see, some people aren't afraid to leave the nest... and sometimes that results in a person maybe living in SF when they are from somewhere else.

I lived near Idyllwild (5000-6000 ft elevation) for 12 years, it snows so much up there that you sometimes have to wait for neighbors with a snowplow to clear the road for you. :p

I learned to drive in one of these bad-boys:

I lived in Big Bear for 4 years by Bear Mountain and drove up and down the hill 6 days a week to SGV to work. Helps when you have a 2000 land rover discoII. Rain, fog, ice, snow, rock slides, white out's. I think 6 times in 4 years i couldnt make it down, roads were closed due to heavy drifts.

The last 4 years I've moved the M3 from A to B in snow safely and the rear tires on that can brake loose even on idle when I try to let it slowly move.. alot easier once you have it going as long as there's no dickwad in the way..

yah it's the driver's fault every time you drive off the road or w/e in snow obv. ,'cause you could've always had gone slower ... but shit happens yo!
