Number 4 (四; accounting 肆; pinyin sì) is considered an unlucky number in Chinese because it is nearly homophonous to the word "death" (死 pinyin sǐ). Due to that, many numbered product lines skip the "4": e.g. Nokia cell phones (there is no series beginning with a 4),[6] Palm[citation needed] PDAs, Canon PowerShot G's series (after G3 goes G5), etc. In East Asia, some buildings do not have a 4th floor. I mean, it looks pretty neat in the details, but why not just call it a 2-door 5 series..

I am severely disappointed with this. I mean, they did this to make the 3 series a sedan only and the 4 series a coupe only.

Now, with that in mind...does this mean if we get an M3 in an F chassis that it will be 4dr only? Or are they planning on killing the M3 (May as well tie their own noose if they do kill the M3)? Also, does this mean if they make an M coupe, it will be an M4??

I like the car but I do not like what it stands for if that makes sense. Next there will be a 2 and 9 series.

I like it! Flat front. Menacing. Exotic interior. It will be heavy no doubt, which is a shame. Can't think of too many other cars that look like this out on the roads now... maybe audi. If BMW can return back to e46 weight I would be happy. E36 weight is just dreaming. E30 weight... now i'm just wasting my breath.

Well if BMW can develope there carbon fibre chassis then it may well be lighter then an E30
