Not really, let's not get that carried away, they'll be competitive though that's for sure. It really was a slap on the wrist I do agree with Red Bull and Ferrari.

Brawn is just to smart to jeopardize his team by running a secret test. I knew once the tribunal aired out all the facts they would not be punished the way all the tv pundits were saying they would...... Stern reprimand and no young drivers test for Merc. By this time next year they will be leading the constructers champ is my prediction.

So we'll know tomorrow but it looks rather clear cut Mercedes violated the rules to me, it's now only a matter of the appropriate punishment.

New money sort of for the Lotus team, while this may not help them as much for this season you think this long term partnership will help make lotus as competitve as Ferrari and Red Bull? I am definitely liking the new capital and after a quick google search considering the engineering background of the two brothers it may yet draw surprises from the crowds and other teams if they are able to develop more efficient technology for the Lotus.

My understanding is that the same corner workers hauled the car to safety during the race, but the fatality happened after the race, when they were carrying it to the rollback truck to take it back to the pits. IIRC, the worker jogged to catch up to the car & his radio dropped. He bent over to pick it up & fell in front of the moving Cat telehandler, crushing him. Such a shame.

Not sure I thought there was about 7 laps left and they retrieved the car under a local yellow....you may be correct as I have not read anything other than the fia press release.

^ I was under the impression that the incident occurred post-race (thus, no need for the SC)? Is that correct? Surely a corner worker injured during a race would have been cause for a yellow/red flag.

^ It was over after the first corner... Watching vettel accelerate after the first turn was incredible to see how much more traction he had out of the turn.. I think he pulled at least a half sec in that one corner alone.

Weber is going to have to up his game if he hopes to have a drive next year because Vettel is making him look silly now. The only bigger gap in team/Driver performance may be Alonso/Massa

Does the marshal that died make CharlieWhitting become more prone to sending out the S.C. for stranded cars? Have to think the pressure of doing it under local yellow was a contributing factor. I was glad they didnt bring out the S.C. at the time, but now perhaps it should have been used.

Anytime Vettel gets that big a lead it's bound to be boring, then again it did have some decent passing moments like alonso's last second romp to second.

First off, thoughts go out to the corner worker killed at the Canadian GP today, he was a ten year veteran of the sport from what I read; sounds like it was certainly an unforeseeable incident with a very unfortunate ending. R.I.P.

Pretty good race today, not terribly eventful after the first pit window, but I was glad to see Seb and RBR get some points. I think had Vettel not had the lead that he did, Alonso would have been a major threat towards the end of the race. I hated to see Bottas drop off, but I think he'll eventually get picked up by a powerful team; looking forward to watching that guy drive in the future.
