    I see this too often

Guys, lots and lots of us change our vibration dampeners (giubos) every year. and nearly ever other time i dig into a car i see them backwards. This needs to become general knowledge. The arrows on a giubo need to point towards the mounting surface, not away from it. putting it on the wrong way will cause the it to die very fast and suddenly.
    btw it's "giubo" not "guibo"

Just put mine on the other day. I was sure I put it on the right direction but I'm getting some weird vibration feeling under hard acceleration. I need to get under there and make sure I did it right.

That's how my Guibo looked exactly after a 500 mile roadtrip after my 5-speed swap.
Thankfully, BMA insisted on covering the Guibo and Center Support Bearing by warranty even though it was installed improperly.

Needless to say, it was a free mistake I will never do again

Shocked at how many did not know this. Arrow points towards the engine always.
I cannot remember if the Bentley covers this. I learned it after I installed two in a row and called around to see what could be wrong.

close. there are 6 arrows on the giubo. three point one way, three the other, alternating. all 6 flanges get an arrow pointing towards it. 3 on the transmission output and 3 on the driveshaft.

                  Brandon,

Arrow always points to metal, not the engine. You can instal a Guibo backwards if you follow the "towards the engine" rule

I dont get the difference between the right and wrong. They look like the exact same orientation. The arrows are pointing to the nuts on both pics.

no, they are pointing in opposite direction.

The nuts are not what is important. The arrow points toward the side of the guibo which should meet with a flange at that point.

I know what you are hitting on. I did not word it right, those notches go on the drive shaft not on the output flange on the transmission. Not talking about flipping the disk over. I was talking about the arrow in the second picture down bolting to the output flange on the transmission.

You want the arrow pointing towards the flange that hole is connected to.

your not describing this too well. If there are arrows pointing opposite directions, then orientation should not matter. But it does. So there is something your leaving out.

Also pic with the guibo doesnt really show a difference where the flange should be
