The need to pay things like rent, children, debt, etc can drive some people to get rid of their precious things asap for cheap. Worth a look for someone in the market for an M3.Owner - Bavarian Restoration

Autocheck scores it a 7 which is the lowest I have seen. Water damage in NJ, salvaged, reconstructed/rebuilt in the late 90's, then front end collision in 2008...perhaps the real reason the front end was resprayed. Pretty rough life."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

seriously, why not at this point? if you're going to make a track car, nearly all of the water damaged bits will get ripped out as you fabricate the cage/wire in CCR-approved safety features anyway.
go in with that carfax, get a PPI to check alignment and pull trim for rust.. i bet it could be had for sub-$10K depending on the condition of the engine/drivetrain.

I hate the words "track rat." Save that for beat to **** cars with swapped m50s.
