Now me, personally, I still just don't get it. Ok - it's for shit and giggles, but can't it be for shits and giggles and also be good? Unique isn't a justification in mind. I don't care how many people have done the same thing, or whether it required a lot of craftsmanship/fabrication, I'm just going to judge it on merit. I do hope he finishes it, because I'll be curious to see how it looks.
Let's say he does a really seamless and excellent job, which I expect he will. I'm just not convinced that the end result of a GL with Bimmer parts expertly grafted on is something worthwhile. If he is, then great. Enjoy your car, man. The rest of the world doesn't have to agree.

I believe Mattel makes millions upon millions of them. I do not actually own a BMW, I was very close to: My uncle had a nicely taken care of '92 3 series that I drooled over. He sold it to someone else, but hey, I got over it. Now I'm in the Japanese game, and I have an appreciation for any car that earns respect. Trust me, I've seen VW's that I've taken note of and admired, and I've even, (yes), seen Honda's that I can respect by the amount of work that goes into them. Stop the bs, and be a CAR community. Not a hate community. i get that this is a place for you E30 bros to gather and douche it up or whatever, but take a chill pill and let the poor boy be.
