A: that can be fixed pretty easily. It's about an 8 hour quarter repair. Like was said before, suspension is cheap on the aftermarket.
B: if you got hit, then you're the claimant and you have most of the control. So before you let your car get salvaged, tell them you want as much as can be had before the total threshold, and you will fix it yourself. Many companies go for this option.
Other choice is to just not file the claim and chalk it up to a bad night. Again, fix it yourself.
Shops and insurance companies repair by a certain standard which is much more stringent than necessary and total too many vehicles like this on technicality.
Additionally, it is mostly up to the mood of the estimator that day and if he feels like you're a solid enough guy to take a chance on.
Don't let your car get totaled and don't part it out. Those are the lazy ways.
Experience: I do this every day, so if you have any questions during this, PM me and I will give the best answers I can. GL.Derek-

yeah, auto body companies profit by making the biggest repair cost claims possible. they don't really care if your car is totaled - they get paid by the insurance company either way. even if it's totaled and they don't get to fix it, there's a long line of other people and insurance companies waiting to pay up.

Drop the subframe and get a new rear setup. Then cut out damage and weld a panel back in.
From the cell pictures, it looks like the door and trunk are lined up.
Lots of work, but it does not look like it got to the inner metal.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

If they do salvage it, link them other E30s that are expensive and clean, make sure its the same model and year as your car. Then link pictures of your car that make it look like its perfect.
Then just sit back and enjoy getting more then you paid for it.1989 BMW 325is | 2019 Ford Ranger FX4willschnitz

No matter what anyone says here that it can be fixed, that's a total loss. even if you found a repair shop to fix it the insurance adjuster will total it no matter how much you beg them. I was hit by a CRV going 10 mph My car was still a straight uni body. I even drove it around for a month.
Edit: Maybe you will get lucky, but I wouldn't put my hopes up.
