Gosh some really negitive unhappy jelouse people.page 1 just telling my experiance of the 335i as new owner.i have owned it i week now still love it.the ride and handling is perfect .the power is great interior nice simple yet classy.this is my daily driver not a track car.
My only comments against the new m3 is the gap between them is narrower every new model.thats my opinion.the v8 in the current m3 is a work of art.i don't think the m3 threw its history should went to a v8. They had it right with the e30 m3.the e30 m3 was built first as a tack car.every m3 since it was not built first as a track car.i would love to see bmw do what ford and chevy tried do with there mustang and camaro.when the 135i came out i thought that was getting closer to the e30 though it has its flaws.not sure you guys know but buick has a 4cylinder turbo that has 250 hp.I know we all would like to see a small ,light ,high reving,50/50 distribution , m3 again!Comment

Ow to the heaters of 335i vrs m3 .
The 2014 m3
POWERTRAIN: The high-revving V-8 of the current M3 will be replaced with an inline-six boosted with two turbos and (possibly) one electrically driven supercharger. Expect about 450 horsepower. BMW will offer a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic; the M3 will remain rear-wheel drive.Comment

I think I’ll chime in as well. I bought my e30 318is at the beginning of July. My parents had an e46 325 sedan, and now have a e90 335 sedan (sport, cold weather, premium packages). I have driven both extensively. I think I loved the e46 the best, and it’s m54b25, but the e90 is better in every way I can think of. The looks of the e46 I loved so much better than the e90. I love the way I can rip to 110 without even downshifting from 6th. It does that soooo effortlessly it’s stupid. BUT, something I noticed was that the n54 has this habit of the torque dropping away after around 5k revs, it’s lame that for fastest progress you can’t pop the rev limiter. It’s way smoother than either the 46 or my 30 in just about every way. The clutch feels like there’s NOTHING there and the shifter feels like goo and the throws are SOOO much longer than the z3 shifter in my 30. I love the active steering headlights, their amazing... The interior on the e90 takes the cake. The sport seats are amazing, lightyears better than the vaders in my e30, the air bag bolsters hug me so well through corners. The suspension is so planted feeling, which is probably a side effect of the car’s weight. Wow it feels heavy lol, the e46 didn’t feel like that, and my 30 feels way lighter on it’s feet than either.
Driving the e90 feels like I’m piloting a spaceship, effortlessly covering ground. Whereas my e30 feels like a race car, high revving, no torque m42, with short gears. A car built for the corners.
The e90 is a way better DD for sure. /thread-Christian

Der well put apreciate info.
The 335i 4dr feels pretty light nible to me .i prefer its handling and feel over the e36 m3 .
I never drove a e46 im going to look up he weight difference.the e46 seems look larger to me maybe just the style body.Comment

ummm i am 100% not jealous at all. even if i was offered a free e90 i would turn it down in a heart beat. having a car that does everything for you, takes all the fun out of driving. and without the fun of driving, why live?Comment

Ohm okay.^i recommend for you a stock eta sounds like it will give you the look and feel you want.guess not everyone loves bimmer s like me only time capsulesComment

Yeah, I'd love another e46, once I'm out of college, I think a ZHP or S54 swapped e46 sedan (AW3 on M interior, either Imola red or cinnamon) would be the ticket for me on the DD end of things.
The only other bimmer I've driven (mom got it as a loaner at the dealer) was a F10 528IX. (I think it was a '13) That was so weird to drive... It drove itself practically, electric power steering for no steering feel and zero tram lining on the freeway. The bushings in the suspension had to have been just massive things of goo because I could feel it's gooeyness in the steering. And the 8 speed auto was the best auto I've ever driven, but I HATE autotragics.
 It had a 260lbft turbo 4 in it, and it was okay, but nothing like the 335 for speed... It was also pretty ugly if you were to ask me...

for the same reason i would turn down a prius. this is more as a joke - i would take it and resell it. but would never drive it.
thx that build has cost me more than an e90.
just bc it's good at being a daily driver doesnt make it good at being the ultimate driving machine.Comment
