It may be close to 50/50 but it still has a front bias. I want to say 52/48 or so.

All the more reason to remove front end weight, not rear end, IMO.

I'm considering relocating the battery from the engine bay to the trunk in the cab.

I agree with you. The weight balance I am talking about is for coupes though, cabrios are probably a lot different especially when the top is down in the trunk.

My point is, people that just remove their trunk tar because its FUH RAZE and drops 2 seconds in the quarter mile are just throwing the balance of the car off further.

Scotty,, I've been thinking the same thing. I always loved the rear battery in my others.

Aside from the tires wanting to light up a bit more in 1st gear, most everyone will not feel the added weight of the trunk-tar in 6cyl E30's, IMO.

I may gank the wiring from the euro and relocate it while my interior is out - why not, right?

Do it, put the weight of the battery where it should be, you could do it w/o much trouble.

I figured - run the wires, doesn't cost anything either.

Overall lightness is more important than the coveted 50/50 weight distribution. Do whatever you can to get your car light. Obviously there is a limit to where this isnt true anymore, but 50 lbs is not earth shattering.

Nor would you notice that 50lbs difference while driving.
