Rant: Who else hates non-M cars badged as ///M cars?

How about an ///M shifter logo knob in a non ///M car? What do you guys think of that? I think it's ok but the fake ///M3 badge...man.

I'm kind of up in the air about this. When I got my new shift knob, I wanted to get the one with the three stripes on the top left corner (but couldn't find it in the elipse/oval piece). The only one I could find had the ///M logo in the middle of all the numbers, and I decided against that because my car isn't an ///M car. The stripes were fine with me because my steering wheel came with those same stripes on the bottom spoke. (M-tech 1)

I agree... if its not an Motorsport engine, it should have M badging, at least on the exterior... However, what about the M stripes? My 318is came with the Mtechnic interior stock, your thoughts?

I don't like any sort of ///M badges in most cases (like hamann's front grille), but certain cases could pull it off such as an original factory M-tech II that came with the badge, or a car like Ryans with an M engine.
