I have that same door sticker on my 323i and mine came manual factory.

Alrighty. Sorry I haven't updated this thread in a while. I checked the vin and the car is indeed a factory manual tranny car. Also, I called DMV and found out that it IS possible for me to title this car. I would have to fill out a paper that basically says that I want to purchase this car and mail it to the last registered owner of it. As long as they don't respond saying it was stolen from them or something like that within 15 days, I get a temporary title for the car. After 3 yrs of owning it I can get a full, clean title for it. Pretty cool! So now I'm back to deciding if I want 2 e30s or not.. Hmmm... ;)

That looks like it would be a lot of work. If you have the space and time to work on it, and a steady source of expendable money, then I say go for it. If you decide to do it, and become bored or whatever and give up you'd still be able to make back most or all of your money on parts and scrap value. Being able to gain title is a point in the plus column. Has the current owner continued to sell parts from it though?
