    Slamming everything?

So I recently bought my first e30, I'm still in the middle of doing the TB, but I was just wondering is it normal for e30's to have to slam everything for it to close? Doors, trunk, etc. Not really slamming but you have to close it pretty hard for it to be fully closed. Is that normal for everyone?

No. i push all the latches shut.

check the alignment of the doors, trunk, etc...

maybe re-lube the latches as well as re-align the body panel they're attached too...

i would HATE to have to slam my doors. i get pissed when other people slam my doors, even on my Honda.

My doors I just give a little push, my truck will shut itself without any help at all once it's past the spring's strongest spot right at the top.

Off topic sort of, but are there any clever solutions to quieting the door closing? Mine seems loud and clanky even though I don't have to slam it. Does dynamat help? It honestly sounds more like the latch but I've lubed it to no avail. Would prefer a nice "thunk"

My trunk used to close like that, then I realized the seal was old and not working and replaced it. Now it takes a little push but still closes fairly easily.

New seals will help. The old ones flatten out and weaken, allowing less of a cushion for the door/hood/trunk when you close it.

Would replacing the seals help with making it easier to close?

I guess I can't say definitely not, but I would be pretty surprised. My guesses are misaligned doors/trunk, sticking latch mechanisms (which gets my first vote), or some sort of previous damage that bent the car a little.
