Trust me, most members here understand more about that car than you do and will appreciate it. However, people come here all the time and post all kinds of bullshit. Because of that, when you come here with no real information about the car and make unsubstantiated claims you are going to get pushback. If you want what you post to be treated with respect you need to have information about the car. If you post your findings you'll probably be surprised with the response.88 325is - S52 powered

I can tell you exactly why that is. We saw what the car actually looks like. People on the phone didn't, and only know what you tell them.Comment

i did tell you about r3v, and i think it's sorta your fault that you didn't read around the forum before trying to jump in and make big claims. you see, if you had just said that you had an interesting story and wanted some help to figure out if it's true, the people here would have been more help than anywhere else. instead, you came in, posted in the wrong forum, made big claims, had no info, and then got butthurt when you got called on it.
really, you only have 3 options. 1) don't come back because you're making it worse. 2)either admit that you're wrong or provide proof. 3)delete your account and make a new one so you can start fresh here.sigpic

How did you ever get to 28. r3v is blessed to have you post on it, we are all ashamed of ourselves and wringing our hands with guilt. Danm you r3v for chasing off the owner of one of the finest factory/customer prepped afftermarket refreshed non legal e30's out there.
I hope to see this piece of important automotive history in a museum someday.Comment

I may be this word you just made up in your opinion, but I am also the one that found the most pertinent information regarding your car with less than 10 minutes using Google. Not sure why a Real Estate agent such as yourself isn't well versed in utilizing technology to research items of property. It's too bad you are the one with the bad attitude, and can't accept that you were wrong, and had it pointed out to you. I'm sure Mommy and Daddy hold your hand and walk you through the process of making Macaroni and Cheese out of a box, it's okay, we don't fault you for that, but for your attitude when you came to our table and acted like we owe you some respect or something because you have some pictures of something you admittedly know nothing about.Comment

What I dont understand is that if you know the Ron why dont you just ask him the history of the car yourself? You want all this info but have not posted anything from the log book. Im going to assume you still havent called tc kline. To be honest this car is not going to be worth spec e30 prices and if you are having such a hard time finding info on it then it brings into question the authenticity of the story you were told.Originally posted by blunttechLevent guzzles vanilla hazelnut creamer like its my semenComment

I have been digging and have found out some rather interesting facts...I did realize in speaking with several old school Bimmer guys that this forum was the exact WRONG place to post a car like this. That was my fault for being ignorant about the crowd here. It was interesting to have personally had written arguments with the smartest people in the BMW world but alas this unimportant and beat up old piece of crap ratty original IMSA/Firehawk prepared car apparently didn't deserve to grace the pages of this extremely cliquey forum. I may end up posting my findings but most likely won't due to what I previously stated...
Probably the wrong place, wrong time and no real reason to share this car with those who just don't get what the car means and stands for. The OG BMW vintage guys are far far more appreciative and willing to help dig up every bit of info on this one. Funny how I am 28 years old and I somehow gain more respect from 50-75 year old car enthusiasts talking on the phone about the car but on this forum got burned at the stake before we could even get started...sad really and many of you should be ashamed of you behavior.
I do want to sincerely thank FOOSHE for being the only decent and reasonable UNDOUCHEY human being here.

Oh, please come back. We're all sorry. I'll buy it. How much? Whatever the cost, money is no object to me.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"Comment

I am having a hard time finding any other E30 for sale to compare this car to.
This is a TC KLINE built 325is specifically prepared for IMSA/Firehawk series when the car was new. Barely used/raced, Never tagged as far as we know, rust free and recently refreshed to better than original condition. Mostly original other than new fuel cell, built motor, cam, tranny w/short throw shifter, old school 3 piece wheels/slicks and much more. All work was done by the best in the business (engine, cage, tuning, suspension) with NO EXPENSE SPARED mainly on the motor internals and suspension. This car has anSCCA log book having won nearly every race it's entered although it has only been ran numerous times. Not exactly sure on mileage but it is hard to believe its much considering its only ever been a racing car.
This thing starts every single time with one push of starter button and runs so strong and lopes like a cammed LS motor. It has been meticulously maintained and operates at the highest level of any classic racecar I've personally driven. It Screams!
I don't have all of the information on this car YET so bare with me. If anyone knows anything about this car please let me know as I am trying to gather info from the past and out the puzzle together. Any tip is appreciated.
Since I have nothing to compare it to as far as being an originally race prepped 325is FROM THE FACTORY that I can seem to find I would greatly appreciate some of your highly knowledgable opinions and experience in this specific model of BMW.
"Hi - I'm new here and wondering if anyone out there might know something about this sweet vintage race car and what it might be worth.

But it's really Post #10 where you blew it.
As some of these extremely knowledgable people have already said (this is why I joined r3v - they know what they're talking about), it's either:
A. A famous race car driven by Derek Bell in Martini colors at Le Mans to 1st overall in 1987(!!)
B. A well-known factory-prepared or sponsored race car
C. A currently legal, usable race car
D. A total hot rod street legal track car
E. Just a dirty old race car.Comment
