    325i Turbo Day #2 - Progress Report

We worked on the car today and it is nearing completion. One more day and it'll be ready to go. I forgot to order a few items that stopped us from finishing this weekend so it looks like we'll be finishing next week.

    That's a m30 AFM we are using.

We offer both non intercooled and intercooled kits. We always start by building the non intercooled kit. Our intercooled kit will feature a water/air intercooler on the cold side of the engine in the engine compartment.

The 2"x2.75" silicone transition slipped my mind when I ordered parts this week and thus why we stopped early today!

OK, now that the mess is moped up, lets try this again.

I have been really looking forward to updates on this project since I saw the manifold you had made. It looks like a quality part, even though it is not equal length which would be nice.

Now that I have seen the pictures of most of the kit installed I must say that I am not quite as impressed. Your price on the kit is quite a bit more then alot of people are going to be willing to pay for what they are getting IMO.

Some of the things I see that would bother me (if I were in the market for a turbo kit) this setup lacks a intercooler, functional or not.. lets face it... there is nothing quite as aggressive as a big grill of aluminum behind the bumper

The piping throughout the kit looks fairly well laid out, perhaps it could benefit from a large diameter and more radioused corners. Now I understand that you chose the diameter because it aids in velocity, that makes sense, and it is factual, however it looks wimpy.

I think it would be a good idea if you bent the intake piping on an angle, and shoved it into a cool air box like a car built by Dinan that was at last years Picnic.

Here is a couple pictures of it:

Again, I respect what you are doing, and you should know me well enough to know I don't say such things often at all These are just things that I myself find to be "lacking" I guess.

Jordan, cleaning up mess = nice work.

Todd, good work at bringing about a real E30 turbo kit. Real nice setup.

Pipe size = if has his engineering reasons, so be it. They do look small, but form follows functions. Same with intercooler.

I think the price has to be grand because of the R&D effort. Guys here research and get advice and spend a lot of time looking for parts. For all the junk you need, and a bolt on kit, that is worth something more than simply the parts itself. And there are a whole lot of parts. You can't simply look at the turbo, manifold, etc. there are also injectors, bigger afm...and those small things add up.

                        Keep us posted.

Jordan, was that kit mostly custom built?

that car was badass, but remember jordan, it was owned by a rich old dude who could just pay other people to do the work for him. Not exactly something many here are capable of.

I wanted to hear that thing run. maybe at this year's picnic. :)

                              Hey Jordan,
We can make your setup any way you want! 3" charged air pipe and huge air/air intercooler, no problem. Ship your car to us and we'll build it.
