FYI, Autozone has good deal going right now. 5 quarts of Mobil 1 and a Bosch oil filter for $33.99. I got it at the store on Sepulveda in Mission Hills. Your mileage may vary.

Gawd, it wasn't that long ago that oil didn't cost much over a dollar a quart for the normal dead dinosaurs...

On this side of the border, Canadian Tire often puts the Castrol Edge 5w50 on sale, usually around $33.99 for 5L. Better than the normal price of 51.99. I haven't paid full price for it yet. ;)

Walmart has had 5qts of Mobil 1 on sale for $22 for ages now. I've been stocking up on 15w50.

Mobil 1 and a Wix (napa gold) = $30 all the time baby

Also, if y'all are spending that much $$ on Castrol shit, you can get the best oil money can buy for just over $5/qt all the time. Brad Penn is only $62/case (12qts) at pretty much every BP dealer.

its a little thin for an M20 but if you must have full syn then you want a true group IV base stock then you want to get Mobil 1 Delvac 1. Some of the bigger truck stops have it on the shelf. Most big truck fleet shops should have it and most GM dealers keep some around because its recommended but not required for the Duramax. Its real actual Synthetic and not highly modded dino juice like the normal "mobil 1 syn" you get at walmart which is Group III

Hahaha! It's very true though. If Mobil 1 wasn't so good at being available there's no way a lot of people would use it after seeing so many scary blackstone results. But after all, we are throwing it in 200K+ mile M20s, so for that matter we should really just use Supertech.

Mobil 1 is just about never an approved oil for turbo manufactures, if that tells you anything.

This deal only applies to the M20 and probably the M10. They wouldnt honor it for my 24v...

Another nice "diesel" oil is the Rotella T6 5w40. I ran this with no problems in my last VW, a 99 2.0L, for over 150K km and a 2000 VW 2.0L for awhile too. Decent zinc package too.
