Wow, nothing between you and German engineering but leathers and all the rider got "were a few bruises"? It was a good day....

I ride and I hate it when people hear of these incidents and use it for "well, it's just a matter of time" or "motorcycles are unsafe" kinda remarks. Glad everyone's OK, did the Audi driver learn anything?

I'd never ride a motorcycle. They are unsafe - not inherently, but because of things like this.

imo, motorcycles are unsafe because people driving cars don't respect them or care to watch out for them.
that bike is a write off for sure.
good to hear the biker isn't majorly injured.

I love Mulholland. I lived at Beverly Glen and Mulholland from 15-22 (when I graduated from College and moved east for Grad school)

Mulholland was our 2-4am playground. No one in my circle of friends ever got in an accident there except one jerk that thought he could buy a Turbo Rabbit (1982) which was totally modified and very powerful, he did this exact same thing into an oncoming 3.0csl totaling both cars, he had owned it for under 1/2 an hour.

Mistake 1 not learning the car mistake 2 driving like an idiot on a public road during the day.

We only drove like idiots there late at night when normal people were asleep. No I don't recommend it but you are only young once, hopefully you outgrow it.

Glad no one was hurt in this bike vs car event.

You are young for a much shorter time, and never old, if you lose control on the street and die wrapping your car around a tree.

Kids, do not do "mountain runs". Where the fuck is the "Another Bronzit bites the dust" thread?

Mountain drives encourage people without skill to put the limits of their car on public roads to keep up and a lot of crashes here have come out of the result. People's stupidity goes up when they are combined with others in such a "venue".

I was lucky and outgrew it and now as a parent and old guy see how foolish we were.

Advice 1 drive right on the public roads advice 2 Drive like a racer on the track, if you ignore advice 1 & 2 be prepared to suffer the consequences.

Yes, you luckily made it past the dumb things we do as youths, and I survived past some hairy situations I got myself in too. Fortunately enough, I was able to live past that dumb phase and tell people they shouldn't repeat the same shit.

And even if you know how to drive, pushing the limits on the street isn't wise. But MOST importantly, not everyone in your posse may know how to drive even if you do! The weak link ends up totalling his car, and the fun is OVER.

As Im sure the motorcylist knows, its not how good of a driver you are, its how bad the other drivers on the road are. Pony up the 200 bones and take it to the track.

This is California's fault? Sadly there are idiots everywhere, even I fear in your state.

CA seems to have the highest concentration around. Blame the street racer fad if you will. Just one more reason to hate that state.

Soccer moms on their cell phones are much more of a danger here than any kid exceeding their car's handling limits.

I went on a drive with a couple guys from my school thru the hills couple weekends ago. I left them in the dust, but I was realllly afraid they would push their cars too hard thru the turns (2004 Focus SXT or whatever and a 2001 Civic Si). I'm glad nothing bad happened, but that's why I prefer goin on stuff like that alone - just me and my car.

Although many would hide it...when you're with a group, you're more likely to push your car beyond it's limits and that's why this stuff happens. (AKA as red mist) Learn to control the mist now, and it'll save your ass in the long run! Know when to catch it, and it won't happen to you!

Jordan325iC - don't say it would have happened. Just remember that it's not a race. If you go on a drive saying you'll wreck - you will. Whenever you concentrate your mind on something, it's more likely to happen. Concentrate on driving safely and prudently, and you'll be fine! :)

Bummer that this had to happen! Glad everyone's ok though!
