My first intro to knowledge of E30's was BEN, but I didn't post in the forums. I would just read as much as I could.

My first post would have been on BEN back in '98 or '99 most likely asking how to fix something that was broken on my '87 325 or if I could put plastic bumpers on it and how much they'd cost.

I was first on bimmer.org back in 99 maybe. I didn't even own the car, I just lurked and lurked. 14 years old, what better did I have to do?!

My first post on E3S was about something stupid like angel eyes and HID's on E30's, I laugh when I think about how naive I was to these cars. I have REALLY come a long way in my knowledge in the past year alone.

I lurked DTM like no other, 14 with nothing better to do.

Got me into BMWs though. Good for something.

I bought my e30 before I joined any forums. My friend got my into BMW hardcore. He owned a 635csi and an eta before that. Before that I nearly bought an integra gsr and I'm pretty glad i didn't. I posted on BEN a couple of times, and then joined e3s. I have no idea what my first post was, but my early ones were on strokers, intakes and body kits

I was already into cars and mechanical stuff before I got my E30 (having done an engine swap, worked in a CNC shop and in an engine manufacturing plant).. but I've learend a lot about BMWs since then (well, everything I know now actually). I have learned a few things in general about cars too, and a lot about driving. I'm also much better at researching stuff on the internet than I was 5 years ago, so naturally I learn things faster. :)

                      Welcome to e30sport Forums

                      - - - - -

Before that, I was on G20.net a lot. Somehow I wondered around and found e30sport. Back a year and a half ago I started looking for a replacement. My two main choices were an Audi 90 quattro or a BMW 325 (E36). After looking, I found out that the E30 was definately the better car than either.

I browsed on E3S before I joined and remember discussions of IS lips and i vs eta and etc. I actually still remember Kris's sig, with him on the front of his car, with the definition of Bimmerphile, lol.

I guess I kinda made up for lost time. I couldn't have predicted I would have the car I have now, nor could I have known I would known as many people in the E30 community around the nation and world........and I would never have guessed I'd be the president of my own E30 gang...... ;)

I might have a nicely tuned E30 now......but I've only driven it for about two months or three.....
I can't wait to see what the future holds.....April Driving school, summer autocrosses, and all my plans for it.

I made the mistake of purchasing the car before I did my in-depth research. Although I love my car, it's just not quite the right one for me...

I am right there with you Charlie. My first posts were on the BMW digest and bimmer.org (now Roadfly). Pre-internet, I had an E30 pen pal in NY I met through the Roundel who shared information. We actually mailed handwritten letters to each other...pretty crazy.
