    New car suggestions

It's been a while since I last posted but I finally decided to keep my e30 that I've had for the past year and a half and store it in my garage. The car has been great and I wish I could take it with me to college but, my university is far away from home. I have considered another e30 however, the fact that it's an old car and is prone to frequent maintanace makes me believe it isn't the ideal college kid car. I deffinatly want something that has a manual transmission and that is rwd with the exception of awd. What do you guys suggest?

Lol I know, but what do you guys think of like a e46 m3? I also found a e92 335i with low miles, and it has a manual gearbox.

I have been around quite a few E46M3, I would rather have to fix an E30 on the side of the road than an E46... But still, they are an awesome ride.

What's your budget? Isn't the answer always Miata or e30?

            BRZ?

            I dunno. I would say Miata, Mazda 3, E36 M3 or an E46 M3.

Something that carries more than 2 people would make for a decent college mobile too. So there rules out a miata. But with a e36 or e46 m3 you can ride away in grace and honor with your chariot full of serioty sisters.

Even if you paid a mechanic to fix your car, you would still end up paying less than you would for a new car. And if you get a loan for the new car it's even more still since you'll be paying tons of interest.

But for school... anything with 4 doors and more of a midsize car. Like an e34

You have an issue with cars that are "prone to frequent maintenance" and then you turn around and look at two of the most maintenance intensive BMWs you could find lol. Vanos/rod bearings/subframe/valve adjustments/SMG pump(if it is SMG, and hasn't been done yet) and on the other, Injector/HPFP/Wastegate rattle/carbon buildup issues/all the extra complexity of two turbos.

Not saying they aren't good cars, but they definitely aren't low maintenance.

I have an e90 335i with the n55 motor. It's been dead reliable for me. No issues.

                            I'm assuming it's an N54 car if it's a similar price to an E46 M3

E46 M3 will kill you in maintenance. also, way too nice of a car to bring to college.

how about something cheap/Japanese? something awful like a lexus - some of those come in RWD. finding a manual may be tough. or perhaps a Subaru? or maybe an infinity - you can get one with RWD, manual, and they even come with an LSD (suck it BMW).
