The cars are almost 30 years old now. How many times are we going to discuss the same topics before we are just over it. Unless it's a new product, everything has been covered pretty well in the archives. Same with S14.net, just more people buying as an investment."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I've had a new to me e30 for a week now, and I know that my situation has changed as well.
Unlike how it used to be, I had to buy a well sorted example rather than a bucket to polish. I live 3000 miles away from my shop and tools now, parking r in a multilevel garage that will not allow anything too crazy to go on.
So I go with turnkey and just tinker in my free time. Slightly changes how I read around here probably.
I know that this time I will not be selling any e30. I remember growing number up, my father invested in the muscle cars of his era when he could still make hoard barn finds for cheap and sits on what could be a gold mine, if he decided to sink the money in to begin restoring. I have no doubts that one day, these simpler little RWD cars will command amazing values.Derek-

The Alfa clubs used to be about sports cars and racing. Now that crowd is quite a bit older. The forums now are about restoration, finding parts, trouble-shooting, and nostalgia. If they quit selling BMWs after 1991, we would be the same.
I rediscovered the E30, got excited, came to the best forum to learn about it, and found it has a lot of funny, smart people.

Facebook completely ruined what was left of the forums. Sad, but true. I miss how things used to be. Not sure how everyone else feels about this, but since Facebook groups became increasingly popular, the local communities have completely died off (probably in response to all the dumb fucks that Facebook seems to draw to them, these are people that would not last 5 minutes here). I posted a thread in the PNW section about getting some locals together for a meet or dinner and had about 3-4 responses. We used to regularly have 20+ cars per meet, that we did usually every 3 weeks-1 month.
I personally just lurk since I really don't have much to add to the very little chatter on here. My cars mostly sit idle (I drive the silver 330is once a week or so) since I have very little time to do anything to them as of late. Fuck working. ha
In short, I wish we could all get together for a little meet like we used to, but I don't really see it happening.'70 911s | '72 2002 | '88 M5 | '89 330is | '89 M3 | '95 911 | '02 M5 | '04 RR HSE

That's why I've been posting in the hunting/fishing section for the PNW. I would love to get some folks together for a meet and greet.
The lady and I rode our bikes to RDM before I got back into a car, saw nothing I really could get into. A Dinan badged e30m3 drove through but didn't stop.
Maybe a r3v coast drive? I get superb keg pricing through my work to help grease conversation as well. I will commit to helping organize something up.Derek-

I sort of had the feeling that I was going to get clubbed in the head and my dog stolen, much less what would happen if I brought a car down.
There was a Teurk'd event at Pat's Acres Monday, but I had to work through it. Wouldn't have been much of a BMW presence anyway, though.
That car is beautiful. He's a very lucky man.Derek-

I've gotten a good amount of advice and leads on what I should do with my old German box, good reception and all the threads with people showing their interest and passion for their car is pretty inspiring."Leafeon" '92 Lagunengrun 325i Vert (Daily Driver/Project)
