I do take care of the civic, I do all required maintenance, even brake fluid flush at the required intervals. I do regular oil changes, etc. It was not lack of maintenance that has me pissed. Its the cooling issues that occur at 160k that I was not aware of when I bought it that has me considering tossing this car. I agree this Omni is not likely a good idea for a DD. But it had me enamored for a bit, I can only assume because its quirky. Time to consider other cars I guess.
Who has owned a Dodge Omni GLH-OR-86 SVO mustang? would you DD?

Too niche of a car and the fact that it's a Chrysler screams "no."
Get a MKII Golf or a Super Beetle.

My brother daily'd a GLH for a few years, fun car. It would give a mustang a run for it's money if you caught it off guard. Torque steer all over the place in the wet.
We put a CD player in that car. First one on the block with that action, real space age shit.Comment

don't go showing your age there buddy ;)
OK OP so it seems you won't be content with a DD unless it's:
A. old as shit
B. not an e30, as they've clearly gone too mainstream for your hipster tastes
C. the odds of running into another one on the road are low
so i did you a favor and found the perfect car for you (fairly local). you can DD this bitch all day and it will not let you down. probably. it's a much better choice than anything else you've listed so far anyway

unfortunately it seems as if the seller removed the original stereo with the built in equalizer. you should see if he still has it, those things are fucking dopeComment

HAHA, well Its not that it has to be old, just more fun than my civic. I already have two e30s so those are out, unless I came across a real nice sedan. I am considering getting a truck as well. But when I look to those I find myself looking at C10s, and el caminos. I must hate myself

GLH runs the same boost as the GLHS. The GLHS just has a better setup with an intercooler and two piece intake (Turbo II). GLH in its first years of being turbo had a crappy intake setup. And in 87 got a better intake but was one piece design (Turbo I).the wiki article says 0-60 in 6.5s and 1/4 mile in 14.8 seconds for the GLHS. that's not anywhere near 13 seconds! and you're talking about the GLH which runs like half the boost. maybe modified, but then you're talking about a modified, turbo, Chrysler product from the mid 80's. the only saving grace is Carol Shelby probably worked on it himself.
Believe it or not there is a market for the 80's-early 90's FWD Turbo Dodges. They are going up in price due to the fact most of them have been beat on and ran into the ground (sound familiar there to the e30 crowd..) There is also a good aftermarket support for these cars plus a great forum (turbododge.com) The engines are limited to little 300hp cause of the 8V head. The 16V head guys are going over 400hp and also these 16V head guys are using Neon heads converted to run on the 8V 2.2 and 2.5
I had a couple of FWD Turbo Dodges myself. 86 Daytona Turbo Z C/S and an 86 Shelby Charger. Both where converted to a Super 60 so to say. Both where extremely fun cars!!! Money pits yes they where, but they where modified. But any car can be a money pit when you start to modify it. I also had a 92 Daytona IROC but it was a 3.0 V6 5 speed. I loved that little car.
As for going for a OMNI GLH... That's up to you, guess you like four doors. If I was to get back into Turbo Dodges, I'd shoot for a 92-93 Daytona R/T, 2.2 16V 224hp.
Throught this add would be good for this thread.
