This is good info, my old standby Ryobi (I know, I know) finally bit the dust while parting out a car. First time I have pulled out the air impact in a while.. Leaning toward the Milwaukee even though my racing partner is a diehard Snap On guy!
Cordless Impact Wrench Recommendations?

SnapOn, Mac, Blue Point etc etc as far as I'm concerned is great for career techs.
For someone such as myself who uses this gear for weekend warrior/car projects etc I think Milwaukee etc is just fine for our needs
Rigid has lifetime warranty, HOWEVER they are tough to have stuff covered if you're not registered, and re-register YEARLY to assure your gear is covered under the lifetime warranty.
Millwaukee is 5 years, basically no questions asked.
food for thought.Originally posted by flyboyxi have watched my dog lick himself off a few timesComment

I've had a Craftsman C3 for about 3 or 4 years now. Still on the original set of batteries that came with the Impact and Angle Grinder. The batteries last a long time in the impact, but the angle grinder eats them like crazy.
I view the impact as a time reducer and not a beefy tool like an air impact. It will zip on/off most bolts, but I have to break the lugs by hand. I would definitely buy it again as a first cordless impact since it has lasted so well. Then again, I want my next cordless to be able to take off an output flange nut.sigpic

i have the old style 18v milwaukee 1/2" impact(nicad). it came from a pawn shop and i paid only 100.00 for it with a charger and 2 inop batteries. i knew the batteries were covered under a milwaukee factory recall. i called them, they sent a postage paid box to ship the batteries back. i got 2 new batteries for free. i am still using the tool and batteries several years later. its pretty awesome. maybe not as good as the newest, latest and greatest, but then it was only 100.00.
for the heavy lifting, i have a corded 3/4" milwaukee impact wrench. it also came from a local pawn shop. that thing will twist the tits off a warthog. i have not been able to find a nut it couldn't crack(so to speak). it has broken a few of my non impact sockets though.sigpic

Milwaukee deals are very YMMV. Even stores within the same service area of a tool rep will not have the same deals.
One store had the M12 jigsaw for 50. Anywhere else was full price.
Yellow stickers!? Verrrry YMMV.Comment

I use it professionally. So far I've only burned up one 1/2" drill... But that was after drilling 4 1/2" holes in stainless steel on 90 some odd coach cars every weekend for 6 months, plus other daily work.
1/2" impact, 3/8 impact and batteries still going strong. A coworker bought the fuel line, and its amazing.
I've said it before, and I still feel that Milwaukee is actually a better choice than Snap On cordless devices regardless of profession. The last snap on cordless I bought was that pos 1/4" drill that I found out was made in China when I opened it up one day.
Snap on wrenches and ratchets are still king, but there are better options for almost everything else when cost vs performance is factored in.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

For the battery devices, SnapOn just is too expensive for what you get. There is no justification to the price when looking at an M18 Fuel . I'm sure your SnapOn driver is happy to sell you them, though!!!
I just got an M12 3/8 ratchet. Superb.
Next up are the Fuel 3/8 and 1/2 High Torque.Comment

I picked up a Craftsman C3 impact recently with some Sears gift cards I got, happy with it so far, glad to hear it is lasting for you. It's compact and powerful enough for my use so I'm happy with it so far. Trying to use a cordless angle grinder seems like a fool's errand to me though, that's a huge load on the batteries, I can only imagine it drains them fast and gets them quite hot.I've had a Craftsman C3 for about 3 or 4 years now. New battery tech is impressive. The brushless motors, too, make a very killer combo.Comment

Ingersoll Rand W7150 1/2" 20V Li-ion impact gun. 780 ft-lbs of torque. There's nothing it wont break loose, lug nuts, rusty axle nuts, whatever. I havent tried it on a crank bolt yet, but Im sure it will tackle it. It has variable speed with the trigger and a brake when you let off the trigger. Battery lasts a looooong time, I rarely have to charge it. I love mine. I think its still the most powerful cordless you can buy.
