      It never fails

      California drivers are the worst

I was merging freeways on a big 2-lane, 3-freeway, interchange, but unfortunately one of the lanes were closed and had cones merging the lanes. It was unavoidable that I cut off some kid in a white Jetta merging from a different freeway to merge (or I hit the cones and drive through busted gravel freeway). In my defense, he was driving way too fast for that kind of merge (big swooping turn)

Lo and behold; he then continues to harass me for a solid 5 miles: tailgating me, merging get around me, high beams, honking his horn when I would try to get away from him. At one point I just sped up and left him in the dust: I put a gap of about 10 cars between me and him in afew seconds and it took him a solid 15 to catch up. At that point; I could have slammed the brakes and got cashed out, but I said enough is enough.

As soon as he got close to me, I quickly changed lanes, slammed my brakes (it was late; ~11PM; no one on the high ways), and stopped on the shoulder as he attempted to cut me off and sped passed with his tail lights flashing

      Yeah, he sure showed me

I should have taken his lisence plate down and called 911 there and then to report him for erratic driving and endangerment of others. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones

        Hey guys

        Just an update

I want to give a huge shout out to u/ArtFoodBMW who saw this thread and contacted me regarding a wheel he had on hand.

He ended up shipping a Style 32; 17x9 with a good tire at a loss on his end to help me out

Now, just like I told him: I never posted this thread to expect handouts, that didn't even cross my mind; I just wanted to share my experience with you all, and it's amazing people are still willing to step in and lend a helping hand these days

I just wanted to make sure he got the recognition he deserves for being an overall classy guy. I really appreciate it.

He's also a great Artist and does custom BMW and general art. You guys should check it out.

I'm not saying I'm gay or nothing, but if he invited me to a evening at a quiet coffee shop for lunch and holding hands; maybe even a smooch here and there, I would drop everything in an instant and be there

        Cheers guys

Any BMW driver who doesnt give me a thumbsup is a douchey BMW owner in my book.

I recently bought a Respect your Elders sticker from Guten, but I think I need a windshield banner sized one. SHOW ME RESPECT! :hitler:

I'm weary to run stickers on my personal cars. I would however run a sticker of a pizza slice or maybe a kitten or possible a weird concoction of both.

This is why it's good to have a significant other... she has the practical car that's comfy, gets good mileage, has bluetooth, carries the family around reliably and I don't touch outside normal servicing.

I get to play with old BMWs :)

I am very picky about stickers on this car. I removed one when installing the Respect one. The only other stickers are a R3V one on each side. There will be no more. I am fighting the urge to put the Nurburgring sticker that I got AT the nurburgring because too many douche BMW owners have that on their cars...

I try my best to be a courteous driver and when I'm driving my BMW I am 10x's more courteous. I believe that half of defensive driving is being courteous. If you do not let the person in front of you over or work with them on the road, then they will just cut you off and make things more difficult. Even worse it could cause an accident or roadrage.
Just last week here in Albuquerque two guys got in a sword fight with there dicks because one guy cut off another in traffic. Well one coward followed the other and waited until his exit came up on the highway. He then shot at the truck and filled it with holes, killing an innocent 4 year old girl. This 4 year old girl named Lillie, was a sweetheart and had a smile that would melt your heart. Also Lillie's 10 year old brother was sitting a foot from Lillie and had to witness his sister take a bullet to the back off the head. All of this could have been avoided with courteous driving. So please take a deep breathe, put a smile on your face(shouldn't be hard to do, you're driving a BMW), and drive courteous....It can go a long way. If anyone cares, everyone local has been tying small white ribbons to there cars to remember Lillie and to promote peace/courteous driving on the road.

Yes, me too, and when driving my E30 I'm 10x more cautious, because of all those F150s and Escalades surrounding me. I'll not be brake checking a vehicle marked "RAM", either.
