What would your dream e30 be?

Early coupe in blue, euro bumpers, full bringtwork including side moldings, plain body, no add-ons aside from maybe deck lip, French smilies/ Slammed on GC, 5-lug swap with BBS Mahle and long studs. Stock interior with period Recaro or other seat, preferably something lighter than sport seats but still reclining.
Power could be anything, I've never owned anything really fast so I don't care, I'd be happy with a S50 or a conservative turbo M20, would probably stay 6cyl.
This but lower wouldn't be far off, its almost like a bizarro world version of my current E30:

If we're talking relatively stock E30s - an M3 with perhaps a few, very tasteful upgrades.
If we're talking heavily modified E30s - being road legal in CA is a top priority so I would prefer a 325i/is that has a BAR/CARB legal S52 swap, perhaps a 5-lug conversion with upgraded suspension, brakes, and factory 17" wheels. The attention to detail would be so evident everywhere it would look like it rolled off the assembly line this way.

or if i wanted something cheaper and probably more reliable i would use a 2.0l ford ecoboost from a focus ST, 250ish HP and still tuneable.

I've been building my dream e30 in my head since I bought my first one nearly 20 years ago. In that time, the vision has gone through many changes. At its most extreme it was full on barely street legal near-race build, but over time has been distilled down to what I like to call "period tuned"; as if it had been built in the mid '80s, with a few modern elements here and there. No coilovers, no five lug, no crazy engine swaps. Wasn't a thing back then.
In a nutshell:
• '84 318i, Lapis Blue/Black interior
• Modest turbo, 200 crank hp
• Euro bumpers, body color
• Shadowline trim
• 15x7" Enkei 94s
• Lightening programme: not much to do on an early 318; remove sound deadening, rear seat delete, lightweight carpet, sunroof delete, spare tire well delete
• e21 recaros
• Momo steering wheel
• 325i brakes
• 325i rear sway bar
• 3.91 m5 LSD
• Bilsteins/H&Rs
I already have the car; 83k original miles, superficial rust only (from a poorly installed bodykit). I actually bought it as a parts car originally but didn't have the heart to cut it up. I have most of the parts too, many of them I've kept from the other e30s I've owned over the years.'84 318i - Lapisblau/Schwarz (in cryosleep)
