I agree, I wasn’t expecting the bid to win but hey... it is what it is. Eventually I’ll have to ask forgiveness but that’s a battle for another day... And yea, sadly not Boston Green but may be the same green that my Dads old Z3 was. His was a lot of fun with an auto and the M52TUb so I’m really looking forward to driving this thing. Might actually keep it, who knows. Let’s see how the wife reacts 😂😂
Northwest Frame here in Indy (attached to the old Zionsville Auto building) is very well versed in doing those subframe repairs. Fantastic shop that works for pretty competitive rates. Ship the car to them in Indy, and then fly and drive from here!

Some of us in Indy would be happy coordinate the repair with Northwest Frame. It's a great place that does solid work.

Thanks guys, I will reach out to them. I am already in the early phases of planning though. About to send Randy Forbes money for his kit too.

BaT is now looks even more dominated by companies trading / selling / brokering cars for a living. almost a complete business to business model. i'd be curious to know what percentage of cars are sold by actual owner / drivers now. half the listings promote the car more as an investment vehicle rather than something to drive and enjoy.

I always find it funny on what collectors on BaT get excited about - in the comments on the 325i sedan, someone gets very excited about the analog clock. Most Australian delivered e30s had the analog clock, so down here it’s not a big deal at all.

Just wait until they find out that if you hold a button down for a few moments the clock begins to accelerate the time adjustment. Their minds will simply explode.

Yup. My 0.02 cents... it's now an ideal circle-jerk, echo chamber, etc. for the self-styled millennial alt-investor. It's a perfect storm where they talk things up up up who whoever is listening (which ends up being others like them), then it collapses because the actual enthusiast/buyer base is on a much lower level. Interesting to watch in real time. "The easiest person to sell to is a salesman".

Like the bubble in the late 80s / early 90s, this one will likely burst too then the next recession hits.

the is isn't getting much love. has a laundry list that needs sorting and an owner looking for big bucks regardless. gotta be the 4th time i've seen the m3 listed with the exact same pics on different sites in the last 3 months.

edit: think the m3 was on consignment and the dealer bought it to sell for themselves. he was looking for north of 100k the last time, or at least claiming it should be in that neighbourhood.

Probably selling it to pay for servicing on the RS6.
