"We can't shortchange the next customer because the last customer is unhappy"

That cant be said, read later and make any sense. You screwed up, then put it on her because you dont run your fiances well? How is it her fault you are using her money to build the next box? End of day you sent her the wrong box, tried to force her to pay for your mistake, and when that failed say, oh well I am broke so I cant screw the next guy, but its ok I screw her for my mistakes. Seems like what she is saying isnt a felony because its true.

"Luke has no money due to her incessant harassment"

SMFH, Where is your sense of responsability, your business is in the can because of threads like this, and statments like that. You yourself admit you were wrong and in the same breath blame her? As said by others, after reading this, you suggest we send you MONEY! Sorry Luke IMO this is all on you

Guys if he wants to run him self into the dirt then let him. This thread has just become a shit show. It should be locked but then we'd never know the outcome although its pretty evident what that outcome will be.

        Good god almighty.

Luke. You're 53 years old dude. If 375 bucks is going to "break" your business, you need to get out and find something else. Go work for someone, because you certainly don't have the resources to work for yourself.
Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

The sht part of this, is the customer losing out. (Money/box/time)

In Gambling you win a few, you lose a few. In the end you still a loser.

See how easy that was? Can't we all just get along?

Let me get this straight. You order an E46 Luke box off GAS. The only ones that are available for sale on the site are for a sedan and a convertible because a while ago Luke lost all the dimensions for a coupe. Luke realizes that you have a coupe and none of his inventory or what he has available will work for you. So he tells you he will try to make you one from memory. The box he makes fits but is not absolutely perfect. And Luke agrees that it is not right and he will send you another one free of charge after he gets a test car because obviously the dimensions he is remembering are not perfect and he doesn't want to sell you another imperfect box. And it is cheaper for him to send you another product rather than the cash.

Months have passed and Luke has yet to find a test vehicle. And you don't want to wait anymore. When Luke's phone was disconnected you reached out to R3v to find him because you don't want to lose the money you have invested. Luke is in a bad financial situation so he can't afford to send your money back right now. And you don't want to have to pay the return shipping. Now Luke and GAS are getting a bad reputation from this thread.

I understand and agree that you shouldn't have to pay to have it shipped back especially if the box is worthless to both you and GAS. But you essentially ordered a completely custom box from Luke. What you ordered is not anywhere available for purchase. He stopped offering them for sale when he lost the dimensions on the hard drive. And you knew that he did not have the dimensions but he was still going to try to make you one from memory. I don't really see how you can expect to order a completely custom one off box for your vehicle expect it to be perfect and unwilling to wait for him to gather resources to make you a perfect one.

I see two resolutions for this situation. One you use the not perfect Luke box and wait for Luke to get a test vehicle so he can gather the correct dimensions to make you one. As is when you order something completely custom it sometimes takes awhile. And the second option is that Luke sends you a free Luke box of something that is in his inventory that is not a custom one off. But something he has the dimensions for and he knows is perfect. Something like an E30 Luke box.

Then you take that box and you sell it and recuperate the money you have invested in the custom E46 coupe box. And you still get to keep the non perfect E46 coupe box and run that. And furthermore if you want a perfect E46 coupe box you watch the GAS website and wait until Luke gets another test car and gets the right dimensions. Then you can order another one.

I feel bad for you both. Luke tried to help you out and make you something he didn't have any more, for your boy to help him finish his audio build he and his father had started. My condolences by the way. And it didn't turn out the way either of you wanted.

Luke shouldn't have built that box at all "from memory". If he didn't have the resources/tools to make it completely right in my opinion the product is not available.

The highlighted part is all that matters. Seller said they can make the item, accepts payment, box shipped doesn't fit, so how is the customer at fault?

Custom one off order? The seller chooses to make it from memory, once again how is the customer at fault.

You have this 100% wrong - it's as though you've fabricated this entire course of events. In December 2015, the GAS website did have e46 coupe folding seats as an option. I chose this option. I even emailed Luke twice to confirm, because I knew the difference. Before my husband passed (he, too, was an installer for many years), we discussed this at length.

At the time, Luke said nothing of his not having the schematics for this box and even suggested he had one left in stock (after two weeks, he did let us know a new one needed to be made). Luke only brought up not having the right dimensions/jig (and how he lost them) after we called him to discuss the box not fitting the ski pass.

The entire rest of your thread hinges on this false notion (your made-up account of events), and therefore, I believe you should rethink your thoughts on this, please. (I can provide the email proof).

I think you read the thread wrong. Luke has said he was making from memory because he lost the dimensions yes, but that was not the case when the buyer ordered. She was not aware of that, it was on the website she ordered it. It wasnt until later that she found out that it was wrong when she received it.
