So, what's the appeal, besides being a fuck boi attention whore? If somebody had a ratty, barely salvageable e30 that's been rotting away for 10 years and wanted to get creative with it, then a kit like this makes sense. But still, $3800 can go a long way toward a proper restoration that will, in the long term, be something to be proud of.

You're right on every level. This was like the early 2000s where everyone was slapping on wide body and "shogun" kits to everything possible. I remember looking on nopi.com and figuring out what the appeal was.
Always enjoyed the fact that the kits cost >3k and thats without the labor and materials of install at to which point you could have just purchased a nicer car. As I just saw from a stand up special regarding picking a girl up on a date "if it's lowered, has lights underneath, and a body kit on it order whatever you'd like because Mom got the check on this one"
But for all those who like this thing, here is the perfect candidate:
