Driving is not a right, it is a privilege - so quit your bitching about "free" America.

Its because of the idiots out there that we have so many laws like that.

I am going to quit posting in this thread but I do not get some of you. None of you get the sarcasm in my writing. Sure America is not free, and there are laws written because of retards and if you push the limit sure you might get that cop in a bad mood to dig up something on you to give you that golden ticket.

But fucking chill out! You guys are the ones that are going to grow up and be the people doing the bitching at our kids!

I think everyone who doesn't drive like grandma gets that. When I was younger I used to clutch in and rev it to the limiter.

I used to have an e28 533i with endless engine mods and a 3'' exhaust with no cat and a remus resonater, I recieved the slow down pat often and i followed the speed limit and have never had a ticket. When Thge people bitched I usually just gave it a little gas.

Now I have a lifted f150 that has an SI/DO IMCO race muffler that exits right infront of my rear tires and is loud as shit. I usually get the slow down thing but only after I go by, mostly because my exhaust exits near the ears of the walkers/ bikers.

I echo Blunt's comments - you just don't shit in your own 'hood. There are several young families in the vacinity as well as a school which serve as reminders to mind your pace. Since I've been running a test pipe versus a cat and my (already loud) Stromung cat-back, my car makes enough noise to rattle some peoples' nerves. I always upshift at low revs to keep it as muted as possible....a good thing to do if its the first drive of the day and the car needs to warm up a bit. Despite my efforts, I still get some looks but no one has given me some form of hand gesture to slow down nor have they said something. There's also a few spots around my area where the local PD sets up shop to hand out speeding tickets. I've rolled right by them numerous times while short shifting to keep the noise down - so far none of them have come after me.

I already call the cops on morons in my neighborhood. Speeding, running stop signs, etc, has no place in a 'hood with lots of trees, hills and little kids to hide behind both.

that only thing ive really done was honking and Flipping off the driver at a dump truck for tossing gravle out of the back of a truck at high way speeds.

I leave the apt. in the morning about 4 grand in first all the way to the exit. and poeple complained during the winter when i let my car warm up. they was like MY KIDS ARE TRYING TO SLEEP. ablah blah blah

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

And from what they said that's where America got it's idea for highways, plus there is some highway in America(Midwestern States), that (if I remember correctly) has a speed limit of 100 or over???

ive gotten popped for "digging out" and 'improper start"
One of the cops claimed i got sideways for 100Ft before catching traction
I looked at him and said " sir this is a 4 cylinder it wont even do 20ft"
He contorted his face and said " son i know what i saw"
Then i just politely said "thank you, thats actually a compliment that i have that much HP in a 4 cylinder" Got off with a warning

The next one was in the rain. In front of a cop. GOING UPHILL. you pegleg guys might not know what im talking about but you LSD guys do.
Even at 800RPM in first it will get sideways slightly in the rain.:tsk:

Im too afraid to speed in neighborhoods. I had a kid ride out in front of me at 10MPH and if i would have been going 5 more i would have hit him.
Sometimes i rip through the turns at like 3am

I get the slow down gesture a lot. It's annoying, since I'm driving slow in the bottom of 3rd @ 1200 RPMS. I usually wave back, or stop and yell at them. I had one lady follow me home, said I was driving way too fast, and I was going 15 kph (10mph).

It is/was Montana. The name "Montanabohn" was tossed around for a while when the speed limits opened up.

people in my neighborhood are convinced that every car that passes through is going "at least 35". i timed it out of curiosity, at 25mph on the dot, you pass one house every second. i think thats what really contributes to the belief that cars are speeding in residential neighborhoods.
