Yeah, I agree with you there. The popouts are kinda overrated IMO. And Todd brings up a good point about interfering with someones head. It would be especially bad in an accident.

dont think it will be a good seller, lots of people dont have pop outs.

      seems kind of noisy?

        Looks awesome!

But I agree with others. 275 is steep for what I believe is an unnecessary accessory. Never have I ever been driving down the road in any of my E30s and thought about popping out the rear windows.

George Graves sells his electric gizmos like hot cakes, but thats because his price point is usually well below 50 dollars a pop. Its easy for most enthusiasts to drop 10 or 15 bucks on a cool gizmo that makes their E30 more modern/better, but jumping over the 100 dollar threshold has a negative effect on buyers. You'll sell a few, no doubt about that, but not enough to make it worth your time.

That aside, its cool to see people creating things! Awesome job!

The way I look at it the people who bought George Graves 1 touch for $150 per switch would probably be interested in this.

This is really cool, I've been toying around with trying this out on my own for a long time now but never could figure out a great way to do it. Id be interested in buying a pair if you decide to sell them.

While I think this is very cool, I'm of the crowd that believes they should never be popped out because they look dumb when they are. lol

I also do know they slam shut on their own at about ~100 mph. ;)

How would you activate it from the drivers seat?

You actually have passengers in the rear of your E30 coupes?

I'd pay $150-200 for this. Definitely want it, but is it necessary? Not really. Very cool though.

lol @ 275 being steep for a custom engineered electronic part.

then people spend 4K on wheels and 4-5K on airbags.

                          Thanks for all the feedback.

I knew going into this that it would be a bit of a corner market that I would be appealing to, so no worries if you think pop out windows don't look cool :p. My e30 is a blast to drive and i do drive it daily despite having a ridiculous turbo on it, but of course the AC was the first to be removed. Even with excessively lanky arms, it is still a huuuge pain to manually open those dang windows. Call me lazy, picky or particular, but i wanted a solution.

It is activated by a single switch, i located mine just to the left of the parking brake, hidden from the passenger's view.

Ugh i hate my interior with that flash!

It does stick out about 3" from the glass to its tallest point, but it is set back quite a bit further than you might think, like behind the crest of the rear seat. That said I rarely have rear passengers, like never, and I wouldn't recommend this product if you do have people back there often.

I do feel like they provide the much needed air circulation, with just two open windows in that box going down the road there is very little actual air flow. I do plan on doing some simple airflow tests, with some tape and yarn, just to put the issue to rest.

As a comparison to a one-touch switch, this provides a much greater service than just being too lazy to hold a button down for 3 seconds. I use it literally every summer day.

Thanks again for the feedback keep it coming!

It's a great idea! I think converting a euro rear fog switch to activate it would be ideal.

I'd be interested in these, such a pain in the ass reaching these when you have evo seats that don't fold up haha.
