I love these kind of threads.
Every time I see one, I am picturing a room full of people mingling and carrying on conversations. But then OP busts through the door and proclaims "I'm new here and have an E30 what should I do first?!!"
Some people will snicker, and throw insults, and maybe some one will be bold enough to step forward and ask "What are you really asking help with." The rest of the people just go back to what they were doing before.
Eventually, after enough insults or awkward moments of silence, OP steps back through the door and turns around to leave.
Maybe later someone will come up to him and offer a hand after he has left, or maybe he will enter again through the side door a little more unnoticed and try to mingle with the other guests. Some may remember him from before, or with any luck, most will have forgotten.
