People can ask what they want but what cars actually sell for is another thing. Even though e30s were a bargain for a while, like during the early 2000s, from what I can remember good ones always still seemed to hold their value and it's not like they've ever been a cheap car to own compared to a regular economy car. I figure it's been the case for the last 20 years that if you wanted an e30 with clean paint, clean interior, and zero mechanical issues, you're eventually going to be spending ~$10k.

The sad thing is I really don't need another car, but knowing I could get one if I wanted is comforting somehow.
Having driven both, I strongly prefer the 4-door. Same chassis, more usability.
Do your research, spreadsheet it out and you'll find some neat things. I'll also link one of my favorite tools for determining what's in my budget and to extrapolate future trends. cargraph.com
Glad to find another 4 door fancier.

I know a mess of people who race them in Spec944/PRO44 - and they seem to enjoy running them. Fairly reliable in sprint racing, though haven't seen too many in enduros if that's any indication of the reliability. Lap times are around Spec Pinata.1991 325i MT2 Touring (JDM bro)

That is where I did enjoy racing an RX7 over my E30 - you could do that and actually make it stick to the inside line. It was so much more balanced in the mid corner vs. the tail happy style of my PRO3 car. Course, to be fair, I always set up my PRO3 to have a little oversteer vs everyone else going for a bit of understeer. Figured if people never knew when the rear end might step out in a corner, they'll be less likely to dive bomb me.. :devil:1991 325i MT2 Touring (JDM bro)

yep, we hold back now, and just give you a little nudge on the inside rear corner
to make sure you're out of the way for a good long while! ;)
It's funny, likewise, I could set the 2002 up to be tight, loose, neutral, throttle- sensitive
or relatively insensitive with ease.
I can't get the E30 to balance that way predictably, at all. I might actually have to DRIVE
the thing some to figure out how to adjust it...
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves
