Depending on the plastic and location of the crack, maybe find someone with one of these? I've heard they work wonders.

Doesn't the engine need to be lifted to replace them!

            Sounds expensive

              are you joking?

the engine uses them to MOUNT to subframe.

there not just floating in place.

I'm obviously not experienced on the topic elaborate? The mounts can be replaced without the removal of the engine?

You need to search and learn. Google engine mount removal.

No, you don't have to completely remove the engine. Just like you don't have to remove the axles from the car to change a tire. :D

Maybe that is why the engine is louder than normal?!? Its not totally stable on that mount. That would be nice but with my luck the whole engine is probably about to blow up (:

OP have you thought about unloaded the car as and listing it as a mechanics special? Your lack of knowledge is kind of concerning. I know we all have to start somewhere, but starting on a project like this probably isn't the smartest thing. Sell it, pay your grandparents back the best you can, and then buy a Bentley manual and start tinkering with your e30 and start from there.

If your mechanic is telling you the engine mount crack is cosmetic and not to worry about it YOU NEED TO FIND A NEW MECHANIC RIGHT NOW.

That was the first shop it was in, the one its at right now hasn't even said anything about it, but that would be because he has mainly just done coding.
