Stock injectors are not maxed out. Check a new engine with all new gaskets. It wont be that lean. ANY vacuum leaks and the engine will run more lean than it should. No chip, all stock.

replacing FPR for less than cost of 1 injector seems to have prevented alpina from leaning.Makes mechanical and economic sense.
Also stoich is 14.7 and thats not where maximum power occurs.maximum power occurs @ 12.5-13.0 range. Being around 14.7 throughout powerband is not too bad when you are not WOT.
When WOT you want to be in the 12.5-13.0 range for max power. Why else would you go WOT? Headed toward 16+ is piston melting territory.

You need a bit more fuel. decent results. now sell that chip and get a mark d chip/ 17/19# units.Originally posted by KilomphA properly tuned engine isn't supposed to have 14.7 AFR the entire powerband, it's not supposed to be a straight line. You should run a couple treatments of Redline fuel injector cleaner, or maybe just get 19lb injectors.

Hey guys, I spoke with the guys at Bullet and they suggest a variable rate fuel pump as a solution for the AFR issue. Bav Auto has one, but it's $200. Then more $$ for another dyno run to adjust the new fuel pump.

Get more power and better throttle response from your BMW. This adjustable rising rate fuel pressure regulator enriches the fuel mixture as you accelerate to increase power and improve mid-range throttle response. Maintains stock fuel mixtures at idle.I Timothy 2:1-2
