im just saying dont tell your mazda buddy he needs new muffler bearings, or he will come home from the dealer with a new muffler.... that being said, I think the root of this problem is dangerously low blinker fluid!

How would blinker fluid effect your exhaust?

                Shiftbmw,
Yes, this is Neil's old car.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't have time until this weekend to look at it, but I will keep you posted. Hopefully, it isn't those bearings. Wouldn't it just be cheaper to get a new exhaust?

Bravo.. you guys made me look like an idiot. Sweet. Now, anyone willing to give me a serious answer? Just let me know if its safe to drive to a shop where they can reattach it. I do not have tools with me at school. Thanks.

driving with a ripped up exhaust isnt going to damage anything else, as long as it isnt anywhere near the brake fluid pump, so check that out.

                            WARNING: Serious post below;)

You will be fine driving with the exhaust how it is. Just look under the car to see if there are any pipes hanging low. Your car will be louder and may run a little different because of the backpressure difference over stock. That all depends on where the break is.

haha, thanks. I actually feel kinda relieved. Idk why I wasn't reading the blatant sarcasm, or why I didn't think for two seconds what the heck a muffler bearing could be.

The break is at the engine block. Do think that its a quick/cheap fix? Thanks again
