How good are our cars jacks?

    As many have said it is a good jack, but i would never use it to jack up the car and work underneath. I do sometime jack it up enough to fit the other jack under but never really use it.

      i love the stock jack.. just don't use one on both sides to get the rear of the car to go up to see if its a lsd...... its all bad.

        We had a guy in the neighborhood who was working on his rear differential when his car fell on him. He drove his car up on ramps and then he jacked up the back and put it on stands. It was a rear-wheel drive car and he didn't realize that there was nothing to prevent the front wheels from rolling.

        If you put the car on 4 stands, it will remain stable. Or if you back the car up on ramps, set the brake, and then put the front on stands, the car isn't going anywhere either. But the fact that the weight of the car was angled on the stands, it rolled right off and tipped the stands over and pinned the guy underneath.
