I just got off the phone with Steve from tunershop. Really nice guy, and had lots of good info for me. Well looks like he can get me the kw setup that I want and its only $700 for the whole setup. I just wanted to get some opinions and ideas of what my stance will look like before picking these up...

I currently have the sportmax 002 et 0 wraped with a 195 45 15 tire. I am hoping to eliminate any fender to wheel gap so should I go with the 60/40? Give it the rake look, or the 60/60 for the even look, my only concern is that the rear might rub being down so low. I am thinking of just getting the 60/60 just incase and if I need to lift it up a bit I can with some thicker spring pads.

      What do you guys think?

I really love e rich's setup on here he is running the gc coilover setup with same rims and almost similar tire size.

here is a link of his stance that I am aiming for...

      Love his stance!!!

His tires are significantly taller than yours, and they are still undersized. Stock tires are 24" tall, 205/50-15s are 23.1" tall, and 195/45-15s are 21.9" tall.

Already told you dude: to eliminate fender gap with those tires, your going to be on the ground. 60/40 won't cut it. With my 205/50-15's even with the fenders, I'm riding on the cut-down bumpstops, and thats with cut down struts, coilovers, and race camber plates.

          60/60's:

Here's a good comparison, KW variant coil overs on the left and KW 60/40's with lowering spring hats on the right. Most people like 60/40's over the 60/60's.
The above poster is right, 60/40's won't be low enough for a short tire, it wasn't enough for me which is why I had to go with the drop hats.

Cool thanks guys, yeah I remember you stating that 195's were going to look silly but i jut thought you were giving me a hard time lol :P I think the 60/40 will work best. I think with the 60/60 I will get lots of rub due to the 0 offset. Plus I think the rake look, just looks tough. I should be ordering my setup tomorrow and should have it soon. I will post pics and stuff when Im done. I will just drive these tires until they go bald and pick up a set of 205 50 15's. How does that sound? I think with that little extra inch of tire I will close the gap and get a tough stance once and for all.

            Cheers

oh and I probably wont be running the drop hats, I heard some bad stuff about them for daily use. I forgot to mention this will be for my daily driver.

I am already thinking of fabing or investing in a skid plate to save me time later.

I just got off the phone with group five motor sports down in San Diego. They are a local dealer that sells KW and Suspension techniques. I talked to both Steve at tuner shop and suspension techniques and they all said that KW has merged with ST and are making the same quality products just under a different name. Steve said it was all about there merge and marketing and what not. Anyways I ordered my setup!!!!!! ST shock and strut combo with the 60/40 spring drop 2.36 in the front and 1.57 in the rear. I hope it looks good. SOOOO HAPPY I cant wait to get it. They said it should be here by Thur of next week.

I will update with pics and stuff when I get them and install them.

How stiff is the KW setup? I am just curios because I have 0 offset wheels and might need to roll the fenders if the suspension is soft. I heard that they are made pretty stiff but wanted to know what you guys think.

                  Thanks

You are going to have a lot of fender gap with those go-kart sized tires. And if you got it low enough to eliminate the fender gap, you'd have NO shock travel whatsoever.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

here is my car right after installation ST/KW 60/40 kit (+all new bushings and driveline) stock spring pads. it settled after 3 weeks about 5-10mm.... the springs are f33ing awesome... maybe a little too progressive sometimes, but the ride is muuuch smoother then on ie3 and a lot more regid, if I ever change my suspension its going to be another kw kit or coilovers. You won't go wrong with this one!!

                                this is after settling

you can see some pics of it also here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=86305 & pg 2
