It takes anything as low as 95 ron fuel although i often use 102 ron fuel.

    It is 10.2:1 compression

It runs standard engine management with viper2 chip.

we dont have that quality of gas available readily out here in the US. you have to go out and find it 5 gallons at a time, or pray to be lucky to live near one of 5 gas stations that sell it in SO cal.

id still like to know what that setup cost. for under 7k you could have a full s52 swap, and be making 10 more hp, stock.

        To get back on topic.....

A graph and A/F are needed to really tell you what's up.

besides what was already said, by the numbers alone, I would suspect that you have some high end air flow issues.

head porting, big TB, honed intake, cam, header.

I'm going to get a 325i soon, and build a wild M20 just to see what can be done!

Wow, I hope to see you mod a non-M E30 like you have your M3. Are you going to go all motor of FI?? I would like to see what a built from the ground up, worked 3 liter M20 could do but then on the other hand I would like to see a low compression turbo M20 put 400 to the flywheel :) Please elaborate on your future plans. Thanks.

NO FI, just a good old build up.

There really are not solid plans yet, it might stay a 2.5, and no bigger then a 2.8. I want to be able to rev it around 7500rpm's all day long and not worry about rocket arms.

wassup guys. i took the car over to Built Motorsports in MD and they set up dyno runs tommorow along with dado since his car is out of commision also. We will both dyno the cars and get accurate readings and such. After the dyno we will work on the info provided and inspect the engine. The really weird thing is that the car feels like it has a lot more than 135rwhp. its confusing but numbers dont lie.

By the way, i didnt pay for all the mods....it came with the car.

e30gumball: im going to be buying a chip from you so keep me posted through email! thanks!

tommorow i will let you guys know whats up

Ted's 3.0 pulled a bit more power, but still not 200rwhp.

what type of gas does it take to run that thing? whats the CR? engine managment?
And what Im most curious about: how much money was spent on it?

im guessing a lot of money. The love of cars we all share is not a cheap one. id say probably upwards of 6grand for that 3.0l m20

                        Not 200rwhp....yet :!:

It is a crapload to build a balls out M20, hell, it's a crapload to build a balls out anything!! At any rate, I'm quite curious about e30gumball's motor and I'm wondering how the hell he makes the power he does (not calling BS, just wondering). I'll be doing a MAF and an SMT-6 soon so I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes.

Let us know how things go Carlos, I hope everything works out for the best.

yea, sorry for getting off topic like that, its just that i have been around these cars for a while, and it takes LOTS of money and not streetable parts to get 200 whp.

anyway, like we said, just get your A/F's done and post them, im sure you will know instantly once you see how rich the car falls. it could be the car just goes rich at the top end at WOT, and runs perfect at part throttle and lower end I.E. street driving.

Yes, im anxious to see what the A/F results will be. in any way i will keep you guys posted and let you know whats going on. I was wondering about the smt-6 and if it would have a possitve affect on my motor. I was in my garage working on the car and decided to take it to the rev limit to see if the revs vary in easiness at the top end. I noticed that around 5500k rpms the rpms raise a lot more rapidly than below those rpms. Im not sure if its a sign or not but i thought i might mention it.

I know for a fact that my car LOVES TO drink. Petrol that is. the mother fucker is in love with that shit and i go through a full tank of driving in 157miles. i dont know whats up but its gonna be taken a look at.

thanks for the feedback guys, its much appreciated

Don't redline your car in neutral!

Ted, gumball has a decent amount of nitrous on his car as well, I don't know if he was spraying for his dyno run or not.

I have to say thanks to e30gumball for helping me out. I will soon have a viper2 chip in the car and the car will be dynoed after it is installed again and i'll let you guys know of the results.

                                Thanks jason!
