    http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/

    Couldn't find it here either...

    Anyone?

Manual Transmission Liquid? I always call it Gear Oil, gl-5, 70w90, never heard MTL. I do hear ATF all the tiime, It makes sense Automatic Transmission Fluid...

MTL is the most commonly used Redline synthetic trans fluid. MT-90 is a little heavier version. I believe it stands for Manual Trans Lubricant, but it is more of a Redline thing than a general acronym. Just get some.

I appreciate you doing the math for me...since I bought 6 quarts things tend to add up differently.

Not to mention there is this petty thing called tax of 9% here

I'm curious, where did you put the 3 extra quarts?

Hey man, just trying to help out. You sounded incredulous that the trans could be done for under $20.

Our wheelbolts have a 17mm hex-bolt head on them; the trans plugs have a 17mm socket head, so the heads of the wheel bolts fit right in. Then, with flattened threads, you can grab the wheel bolt with a vise grips and turn it.

No hard feelings...just thought you were being sarcastic :puppy:

I put a little over 2 quarts in tranny and almost exactly 2 in the diff. That left me with 2 extra for whatever purpose I would like...possibly bubble bath

No prob. That's a stanky bubble bath, though... i got MTL all over my arm last time I filled, and that smell didn't go away for days!

a good way to tell if you have enough tranny fluid is to fill it up to the point where the fluid starts streaming out the fill plug. once you see that cap her off and ur good 2 go

that wheel bolt trick sounds tight. my drain plug is #$@#ed right now so i cant do a flush/fill. most likely i am gonna have to drill it out.

i have redline in my diff, engine, and soon to be tranny.

                            redline everyyywherre.....

i have royal purple all in my 3kgtvr4

oh, and to keep it somewhat relevant: I need to change the tranny fluid on my 'vert. And Patron kicks ass.
