Bought it in 7/3/06 with 158xxx for $1700. Took another 200 to bring the registration up to date and smog . (I bought it AS IS and took a gamble with smog). Spent about 7-8k on maint and couple upgrades since then, haven't even touched body and paint yet... ugh.

My 1991 318is was bought new by my dad 16 years ago. I've had it since the mid-1990's. I don't remember exactly what he paid for it, but I think I still have the original window sticker somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Let's not even get into that! I stopped keeping track of how much money I was pouring into my car many years ago.

Anyway, 3 months later she calls and tells me she found a car. I go to test drive the BMW and look it over, and it turns out my friend had serviced it before. He just said, "Good car." The radio was fucked and it had some goofy isses like a pegged temp gauge, but she had an assload of receipts totaling around $15k and had only put 5k on it in the last two years. First owner installed Bilstein BTS setup plus bushings and a Dinan chip. She didn't really understand all that but liked how it drove. Engine had only 53k (113k on chassis) due to an incident with a large rock on the highway. She hoped I wasn't mad that it wasn't the orginal engine... receipt said complete rebuilt motor installed so ok.

She ended up dropping the price to $1800 and told the titling place it was only $200 to save me money. She hugged me when I took the keys. I still feel like I robbed her.

1050 in oct of 06. brakes were shot, it needed a fuel line, it had a rubber hose clamped to where the oilcooler was supposed to be and a freshly egged new paint job. $7500 later my insurance company feels its worth $6500. Not to bad i guess.

Got my first E30 (Bronzit 88 325) in I think August of 2002, from a female friend for $3200.

I bought my present E30 (Schwarz 86 325es) from Ted Whitney (uofom3) in Feb of 2005 for $2500. It was near-bone stock with only a Magnaflow muffler and a Z3 1.9 ssk.

                                She's a bit different now:
