Well, I still don't see the FIA going back on their decision. Especially not this late in the game. If/when the hearing does take place, we'll be nearing Signapore, and to make a change that happened two races ago would really eff up the WDC and WCC standings.

Sennafan, pull the "red car" card all you want, Hamilton's move was a blatant violation. He cut the corner and ended up closer to Kimi than before, simple as that.

But he gave the position back right? Either way, Kimi crashed...

I guess you saw the race, so you probably saw the pass. Go back a page or so in this thread to see the video of the actual pass.

Lewis went off and then came back on in front of Kimi, he let of 6 kph (3.73 mph) and let Kimi barely get in front of him and then swooped behind him and then around him. It was a highly controversial pass, and I'm sticking with the FIA on this one.

          Yeah, I saw the vid.

Maybe he was dishonest in what he did. But aren't the rules, you cant gain a position by going off track, and if you do you give it back? He did what the rules say right?

No the problem is gaining ground on the other car by using an escape road. had he attempted to make the corner as Kimi did, he would not of been right up the gearbox of the ferrari going into la source.

It wont be the first time. I cant stand Alonso, but the red team tried a mass damper and couldnt get it to work, so they had it outlawed. I understand there is no F1 without the red cars, but give me a break, they can get every call. The FIA went back on their decision when they said the red teams barge bords were out of spec. Last year two people in front of lewis had illegal fuel and they were fined. Why couldnt Lewis get a fine? I hope even if they lose the appeal they dont get a more harsh punishment and Lewis can stay focused and win this championship.

Mclaren is lucky to be racing this year.

Don't tell me you forgot about last year, Joe's right, the team very nearly got cockblocked by the FIA.

So anyway....Rain at Monza this weekend is a strong possibility, should be extremely exciting in a crash kind of way. If it doesn't BMW should be in a strong position shouldn't they? I mean they have a low-downforce chassis anyway.

Yeah, not only will it play into the F1.08's hands because of the low downforce thing, but the possible rain has always been nice to BMW. Now it's just up to Kubica and Heidfeld to maintain control and qualify well, let the pit strategists figure out the rest.

Monza would be one of the few tracks where I do not want to see rain during the race.

However, rain during quali could be cool, it would be nice to see a real mixup in the order and see some of the faster guys at the back and having to fight through traffic at a race like Monza.

No way is BMW going to finish that well at Monza.....this is Ferrari's home race. The race stewards will see to it that there are three red cars on the podium: Massa, Kimi & the T-car driven by Luca Badoer. I'm sure there's an amendment being added to the FIA rule book as we speak :-P

toyota dropped off in the afternoon practice. BMW 2 and 3 with some very good first sector times.
