Mustang, easy to work on and cheap fun. Get a notchback.

Eh, not a fan of the notch. I'd take a hatch GT.

Plastic monster, Notchback is significantly lighter.

Yea but doesn't look nearly as good. I'm not really interested in going super fast, I just want something to bruise around in and look decent.

I disagree. Usually I do like notch backs on cars, I like AE86 coupes more than hatches, 240sx coupes more than hatches and so on but I'm just not a fan of the fox notch.

I'm glad to see the Foxbody is winning out :)
I don't think your mom appreciates the value of those modifications

Does that say 4.6 on the side where is should say 5.0?

I doubt that gt bumpers and skirts add much weight and I do think they look nice when everything is clean and the same color. I say go with a gt (only came in hatch and vert form). The notch may be slightly more rigid and weigh slightly less but the looks and practicality of the hatch outweigh that by so much.

I guess that is a 4.6 emblem huh.

Lx notchbacks look all business, never liked the hatchbacks and definitely didn't like the verts.

I don't think either make for an ideal daily. The porsche's cost money to maintain and the fox bodies get shit mileage. Fox's blow in the rain as well...

shiftbmw has a good point there^

944 is just oozing OG, but the fox is a jumper and fun in straight lines (as much fun as a straight line can be).... neither is gonna be great on milage, the porsche will be better and drive better, the ford will probably break often enough that when added to the additional fuel costs, both are going to set yo back a good, and even, penny.... one which you could have spent on you e30

if i were in your place, i'd be looking for another e30, or maybe a dub. benefit of the dub (an mk2) is you could interchange your wheels between it and your 30. plus if lookin good is the main thing, dubs can get REAL low and still look so damn good. plus their value is tanked - you can wrangle a very nice condition one from an unexpecting enthusiast for an easy $1500 ...then you'd still have a $1k for moding it and a little to your 30. ...mk2 gti's are that sort of a "zippy" fun-to-drive car that just doesn't get boring even though it isn't that fast, and you'll get atleast 30mpg if you find one with a solid, well maintained 4 banger (those are very stout, the 8v is a much more entertaining/torquey engine than the 16v for a DD)

just my 2cents : FYI, they crush like pop-cans when t-boned, i'd still get another one, maybe someday...i'm just out of the FWD thing for right now as a DD, i'm prefering 4wd
...what hasn’t been done to an m20 yet?

I wish you luck on what ever you choose. the 85.5 mi commute would rule out both of those IMO, but its your car and you gots to make yourself happy :)
