S2000 or Swapped E30?

get a clean low millage e46, two seater cars for college is dumb. An e30 can be reliable but most of the time compared to a s2000 it will not be. I say option C ftw.

If I had the cash for one, or wanted a car payment, I probably would have gotten an S2K instead of the E30 when my other honda was stolen.

yeah, s2k don't look very good at all IMO, a newer bmw would be fun and stylish.

S2ks are sexy as hell. They have great styling, and even the ap1s look better than a lot of new cars today. I think it's destined to be a classic.

Doubt you will even need to consider suspension because it already handles great. It's also still going to be faster than a s50 swap. You won't need to dump a lot of money into it while having to repair things along the way.

Btw, wouldn't recomend drag racing, because the drivetrain is a weak point on those cars. Bolt ons don't really do much for it, but I/H/E plus 4.10 final drive will make a nice difference.

If I didn't want to finish modding my e30, I would be saving for an s2k myself

What does the s50 have to do with it? It just means it's fast. I love the s2k for how it turns, an s50 isn't gonna change that in an e30...

Like I said, for 15k you could have a well sorted out e30, suspension, brakes and a nice motor. Plus you get the pride of having built it yourself.

Don't get me wrong, the s2k is a sexy fun car, but there are a lot of risks involved, like the fact that everyone is going to want to steal shit from you and insurance is going to be higher. It's not quite as practical of a car, especially for college.

I personally would have the e30 over the s2k, the s2k is a nice car, but I love my e30's. It's an incredibly tough decision though.

Let the guy decide for himself. I wish him luck for whatever car he gets.

Wish I had 15k to spend on a car while going to college. If I did, I would keep my $1000 dollar e30, throw $10k into it, and buy a bike while i'm building it. Shame I have about $15.00 bucks to spend on my e30 now...

a honda? yea it might be reliable but when you walk in a room full of car enthusiast and they happen to ask you, "what car do you drive?" the first two words that will come out of your mouth will be "a" and "honda". think about it......

you can get a nice used benz or bmw or subi or sumthin else that doesnt scream "rice"

go for an audi maybe... though i doubt you'll find a good one for 15k

or you could find a good one and throw down like 8k and have low monthly payments on a really great car.

if your just now going to college I wouldn't want a nice car at all. get a 2k e30 and have 13k in beer money, that might be enough to get you through your first term.

Ive spent quite a bit of time driving my old mans s2k and it is a very nice car, if i had to choose i just one car to be my only car thought, it would have to be the e30, you cant fit shit into an s2000. fyi, a computer case will not even fit in the trunk, you have to put it in the passenger seat, and if you have a passenger its seriously a tight fit to close the door.

The fact of the matter is the optimum return on investment on an e30 at this stage in the game is nowhere near dropping 15k all at once. I've seen s50 swapped e30s go for around half that anyway, if you're not hellbent on DIY.
