      If they're from a T-bird, they're WAY too big.

As a native Pennsylvanian, I can most definitely speak to the untrue nature of that statement. They use SALT in PA. Just ask me about my low mileage 1980 528i that I had to scrap because the body was gone.
I was pretty sure they don't use salt on the roads in PA. I have heard they use sand instead of salt because of the strict laws they have about a cars condition. Cars have to be inspected there on a regular basis for structual integrity. Eitherway, I think the car will see its first winter with me 8)

I thought they would be as well, but my dad insists they are 15". I guess I'll see.

Congrats!!! i know you'll love the ix... My first E30 was a 89ix R.I.P. :( If I had not have crashed it I'd still be driving it today.

          great car
          M

FYI I paid 8000 for mine too, but that was cdn dollars and it was in 1999 but I got a great deal. My insurance gave me 11K for it when I wrecked it.

Thanks man! I think I will. This will be my second daily driver e30. Thus far, I've owned 3 e30's:

                1989 325is, since sold
                1986 325ic euro, still own
                1989 325ix, now own ;)

                I love e30's!

They may 15", but the diameter of them will be massive.

I would think something like 15x225/235 at least. My 14x205 60's are almost completely filling up the wheel wells.

The stock Thunberbird size for the last early-90's gen was 215/70/15. That is hilariously bigger than stock.

Also, 205/60/14 is equivalent to the stock E30 sizing. You're right though, there really isn't much space for oversized tires, especially in the front wells.

in my mind, i dont think you can overpay for something you really want. if its worth that much to you, then go for it.

that being said, that looks like a nice ride.

stock ix wheels are 15x7 ET41, the tire size is 205/55-15. 215-70 would rub the strut on the front if you're using stock wheels.
