anyone know the law? got pics!

ok, i am livid and have no idea how to start dealing with this. i had my 84 318i painted last august, looked pretty good, heres a couple pics.

Now jump to this spring, the car was stored in a garage all winter and here is some pics of the paint when i looked in the spring.

The entire car was covered in these cracks. The shop tried to blame it on me and said it had gotten to cold and that a base clear paint job wasnt meant for canadian climates. After showing them the pictures they agreed , even though they said it wasnt their fault to do a repaint.
So i dropped the car off 5 weeks ago for what was supposed to take a week to repaint. I rented a trailer and picked it up today and here is what i get.

I am pissed. Not even the same colour! It took me 2 weeks to pick the graphite color I wanted and i end up getting grey with gold flecks. I brought the car home as I didnt want it in their possesion if i take legal action. the one guy at the shop saw me look at the paint job and said that you can never get the exact same colour twice. I kept my mouth shut as I didnt want to have this shit escalate without knowing the best way to deal with it first.

I have no clue what i am supposed to do . I am positive they will not repaint, and even if they did god knows what the car would look like this time. as it goes now, the first job they put on almost a gallon of clear i am told, this time they put on 1 coat of clear. help me out here guys, i dont have money to pay for a lawyer, have three babies at home. Any suggestions?
    thanks
    Larry

Dude you are just not catching a break with this paint shop. In all honesty you should have told them it was the wrong color and refused to pick it up. I would think since you took it home with you that what ever color it is now, is all yours. By leaving there with the car you agreed the car was acceptable to you. Not sure if hiring a lawyer would make you get that changed or not.

    Good Luck though...

Wow...I remember what hell you went through last year (or was that earlier this year?) with this. I was so happy for you that they admitted fault and handled it.

Such a bummer that they did such a poor job.

I wish I knew anything that might help, but in general, US law is on the side of the shop.

          Good luck, dewd.

It looks really dusty in the pictures. Clean it up first and decide what you really think about the color before you get too angry. It's stupid that they'd do a bullshit job like that, especially when the first time around looked like a pretty cool color.

Looks like Delphin Gray. Nice color. One of my favorites on an E30

Not much you can do at this point other then not deal with this shop in the future, warn others and get references for future work and chalk it up to experience.

I would ask them why they re-painted it a different color and fucked up so royally again.

                      paint

it may look good in the pics but there is shit , like debris and indents in the paint, i have lines running down the hood of the car in the clear, i will post some pics later for you guys. also there is only one coat of clear which i am told from another shop is not enough. i was told it cant be buffed as it is to thin and that it will eventually cloud from water sitting on it , sun damage to the paint etc. it just keeps getting better.

heres some close up picks of their handy work. also a few shots of the car from a little ways back. it boggles my mind how these assholes could send this back to me, no work ethic or pride. so depressing. I think i am colour blind but i see brown in the paint, anyone else?.

Really? I thought it was just motors and throttle bodies.

That's a really bad paint job.... the color itself doesn't look horrid but the finish of it does. Don't give up on it.
