not really - it would run fine with higher CR and a cam, assuming everything is in top shape. But you'll be missing out on a good 10-20hp vs a more modern EMS, which sort of misses the point of doing all this to your motor.

first of, revving his E crank to get full capability of that cam, is dangerous. In most cases., 272 cam's best is beyond 325i redline. So what's going to happen, is this. Your compression will 7.8-8.0. With huge over lap you'll lose the bottom end torque, that E is known for. If you have your stock diff (2.93), going 0-60 will be your Christmas present. You'll have sub E HP by the time you reach I redline.

Download Desktop Dyno 2000, and just play with it. It's not accurate 100% but you'll get the theory behind what you're doing.

please, don't post if you have no clue what you're talking about. reving an "e" crank is hardly dangerous. I'm not even going to comment on your cam statement..

            -This is great...

-yea, the 288* cam is too much for 7.9:1 CR, heck the stock "i" cam is too much.

            -use a 1988 s-eta set-up, OP

If your going to do all of this work either buy custom pistons at a compression of your choice with valve reliefs already cut (in case your timing belt ever breaks) or find some super eta pistons and call it a day.

But here is dyno proof eta + i head.

So it is a great upgrade from a stock eta.

I talked to the tech.. told him about all the research ive done between you guys and strictly eta.net and said that he should treat it like an I build.. he has no problem with that and will be getting things done in no time at all... ill post pics of everything when it is done.
Thanks for all of the input greatly appreciated.
