So I guess I'm now just like everyother E36 on Bimmerforums....
I never said I was happy, although I find it more appealing than the interior of my E30, I was only pointing out how off base your own comparison was.
I think comparing a car built 14 years ago on a basis of fit and finish with a a car built less than a year ago trumps my "comparison" (by the way, it was a 92' grand am, not a 94', you would know that if you paid attention) for all around "idiocity" and outlandishness.
It's like saying the design, materials and fit and finish of an E92 is better than than a 20 year old E30. Really? NO SHIT!!! Thats amazing! I half expect material quality and consumer expectations for design tolerances to go DOWN over two decades, stupid engineers......
On another note.
I still don't now why people call me "hon"? although it does do a nice job hitting home on my observation of the relatively low level of reasoning skills some people on this site seem to possess.
Lastly, and this is kind of disappointing, you remind me of all those examples in old race movies of segregationists chanting "Go back to Africa!"
This statement sums it up best, talk about an exageratted, ostentatious statement without justicfication or merit. (a.k.a. pretentious)
Not to throw my hat in the ring with VacMan necessarily, but he has a good point here. In my personal and extensive experience with BMW enthusiasts spanning four generations of 3-series, never have I encountered so many asshats in the community than those who drive the E36 cars. I honestly don't understand why so many E36 owners look down their nose at my lowly E30, or wouldn't acknowledge another E36 driver (or E46 for that matter) when I had one. I'd complain about the general lack of knowledge amongst the majority of E36 owners, as evidenced by the average apparent post IQ over on Bf.c, but I think the new E90/92 owners take the cake in that department.
...all of which paints me as some kind of E30 elitist. I suppose I have to accept the label if I'm going to label most E36 owners as asshats - but at least I'm right :p
.
E30 24V 6MT SOLD :( - look for it in sunny Miami :)

The funny thing is, when I first read that post I looked to see what car he drives and sure enough...E36. There is a post like this on BF.c at least once a week.
"I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I don't look down on e30's, never have. I'm just trying to understand why some e30 owners feel the need to look down on E36's. I don't consider you an elitest, you have atleast shown reasoning and thought behind your argument.
As evident by the user who posted above your last, some cannot even engage in an intelligent debate with someone before they throw in thier towel for lack of being able to put together a coherent argument or show any shread of reason in the basis for one.
I love all cars for various reasons. having owned an E30, I see myself owning one again in the future, infact I may even have a chance to buy back my old one. But I really don't need two cars at this point, or atleast two of similar characteristics.

There are several post on this forum of similar type as well. I don't see anyone bashing that car because its an E30, I only see them bashing it because of what the owner did to it. I think just as you see alot of E36 owners as being pricks, I see the same thing from E30 owners.
I love the Style 5s. They have just the right amount of dish, and are weavey, so of course they look great. And I have this thing for 17" wheels. Not too big, not too small, jus right. Can't wait to get my own set and pimp them on my E28. HOTT!!!!
p.s. I told myself that I wouldn't get another set of weaves. I hate cleaning them, but weaves with dish? I just can't help it!!
Someone took a few too many argument based research courses? Nice car, but you can't use logic on the internet. Theres some kind of fundamental law that I can't quite figure out.

Words, phrases like "questioning statements" and "reasoning...generalizations", "rebuttals", summaries, etc etc etc.
Just felt like a professor's voice was speaking those words.

No doubt, $500 is a good a deal if they are decent.
They are completely straight and rash free. The only downside is that they have black centers, which is really a matter of preference. My car is black anyway, so I will try them like that for now.
There is also a nice set of Style 5's at the local Pick n Pull. Someone could nab that set for what, $50? I just dont have any free time, especially in the 9-6 range of PnP's hours. Damn it..
And yes Trey, I would love to have a set of M-Systems with the turbine covers.... God yes.
But I really like having a lot of wheels, so I cant just get rid of a set. I think I have 6 or 7 sets of wheels in my garage now for the E30's. If I sold them I could get another car in there.
