I made an observation about some of the members of this site, I didn't say wether or not I disliked them?
In fact I recall saying they are part of the reason I come here.
Don't start jumping to conclusions.
And who is "we"? was there some sort of election where the thousands of members on this site elected you as their representative?
It is however obvious that YOU don't seem to like me.
I also think its obvious I'm not here to please anyone.
Hence why you not liking me really has no bearing on wether or not I continue to post on this site.Last edited by Hon2BMW; 08-27-2008, 10:11 AM.

Not to throw my hat in the ring with VacMan necessarily, but he has a good point here. In my personal and extensive experience with BMW enthusiasts spanning four generations of 3-series, never have I encountered so many asshats in the community than those who drive the E36 cars. I honestly don't understand why so many E36 owners look down their nose at my lowly E30, or wouldn't acknowledge another E36 driver (or E46 for that matter) when I had one. I'd complain about the general lack of knowledge amongst the majority of E36 owners, as evidenced by the average apparent post IQ over on Bf.c, but I think the new E90/92 owners take the cake in that department.
...all of which paints me as some kind of E30 elitist. I suppose I have to accept the label if I'm going to label most E36 owners as asshats - but at least I'm right :p.

The funny thing is, when I first read that post I looked to see what car he drives and sure enough...E36. There is a post like this on BF.c at least once a week."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I don't look down on e30's, never have. I'm just trying to understand why some e30 owners feel the need to look down on E36's. I don't consider you an elitest, you have atleast shown reasoning and thought behind your argument.
As evident by the user who posted above your last, some cannot even engage in an intelligent debate with someone before they throw in thier towel for lack of being able to put together a coherent argument or show any shread of reason in the basis for one.
I love all cars for various reasons. having owned an E30, I see myself owning one again in the future, infact I may even have a chance to buy back my old one. But I really don't need two cars at this point, or atleast two of similar characteristics.

Well, back ON TOPIC:
I love the Style 5s. They have just the right amount of dish, and are weavey, so of course they look great. And I have this thing for 17" wheels. Not too big, not too small, jus right. Can't wait to get my own set and pimp them on my E28. HOTT!!!!
p.s. I told myself that I wouldn't get another set of weaves. I hate cleaning them, but weaves with dish? I just can't help it!!Slicktop City!Comment

They are completely straight and rash free. The only downside is that they have black centers, which is really a matter of preference. My car is black anyway, so I will try them like that for now.
There is also a nice set of Style 5's at the local Pick n Pull. Someone could nab that set for what, $50? I just dont have any free time, especially in the 9-6 range of PnP's hours. Damn it..
And yes Trey, I would love to have a set of M-Systems with the turbine covers.... God yes.
But I really like having a lot of wheels, so I cant just get rid of a set. I think I have 6 or 7 sets of wheels in my garage now for the E30's. If I sold them I could get another car in there.Comment
