I broke my shift knob in half once, shot it into the rear seat area.
Heh, someone shifts too hard. :)

You're lucky. I shifted hard enough to sheer off 2 of the gear selector forks inside my transmission. Lets see you do that ;)

Do you all actually shift that hard? With any effort at all?
Even with the SSK mine is like a video game shifter, I usually just flicked it with my fingertips in daily driving. I hope the E36 M3 tranny is just as smooth, im going to have a SSK on it too.
Right now it feels like there is something wrong with the M3 I am driving. you have to move the knob like 4 feet and you cant tell if its clicked into gear or not.Im now E30less.

Yeah, even my Z3 1.9 SSK was pretty easy to shift, I never had to shift that hard at all.Originally posted by Ryan StewartDo you all actually shift that hard? With any effort at all?

If those four metal clamps on your Selector Rod are weights...then you have a Weighted Selector Rod. And that's a fact. More weight on the selector rod means more momentum slamming through the gears. More momentum means....ah, you get it. You f***ed your s**t up man.- 2000 Audi S4 Stg 2 (sold)

My gas pedal broke while the car was on the dyno once.
I have also broken one of those shifter linakges . . The pin on the shifter end lost half its welding and i could only shift into 1 3 5 gears. Reverse, 2 and 4 were no go as it was bending!Signature removed by R3VLimited staff due to a violation of the signature rulesComment
