Nice use on the dimple dies.
Very nice. I will definitely be looking into this when it gets closer to being done.My 2.9L Build!

The new brace is a little tougher, the floor pan is an addition to the 3 piece brace.
looks like the price will be about $250 for the tower brace and $195 for the pan support. I think we may be able to offer a break for both together (something like $425???)
The pan support is a good thing even for stock HP because the force of the rear diff mount on the pan, will, over time cause stress fractures and a failure of the trunk pan.
I drove with it on a 188 RWHP e30 today and there is a noticeable difference especially in hard power transitions and loading / unloading during shifting gears.
Important!!! This isn't a fix for a trunk pan that is already blown apart!
Also: We are now working on a retrofit for the single piece brace that we have but that might be a while (personally I will use this one on my 318is DD).Comment

How far behind the "bar" that the diff mount is on is the floor pan piece? I'm curious if it is behind it since that would allow better mounting for when I put the E36 diff cover on and put new mounting tabs in place. My 2.9L Build!

The plate on the floor is directly on top of the "U" channel that the rear diff tabs are welded to. On either end of the plate there are crush sleeves that sink into the holes (originally covered with plastic plug caps) through to the bottom of the "U" channel. It is secured with 8mm Allen bolts counter sunk in the crush sleeves from the top and lock nuts on the bottom of the channel.

I had the origional SBI bar (in 2003) when it was $150 and one piece. I liked this design as it was different from every other bar on the market then.
why is the horizontal bar bolted in now?
and do you have any proof of E30's pulling rear floor pans appart? I've never seen this before, and only became aware of it when you started advertising this product .
I know Mcoupe/roadsters crack trunks, but never heard about it on E30's which have been beaten on pretty hard for quite a while now.
I'm not claiming false advertising here, just wanting to know where your gaining this knowledge fromComment

I have had it happen a few times over the years on cars that were money shifted (accidental 5th to 2nd). And I have had a quite few emails from the site asking about something to re-enforce the pan (e 28s as well)I had the origional SBI bar (in 2003) when it was $150 and one piece. I do have a current customer at the shop with a '88 325is that the channel broke away on the trunk pan was cracking at the sides...
I'll call him this coming week and see if I can get him in and post picks of the repair ( I MIGed it all back together and added a piece of bar stock to the floor pan last year)
If you look back a few posts... John was working on this problem independently of me from some time back and developed the 3 piece with this in mind.why is the horizontal bar bolted in now?
He just needed the "on chassis" R&D / Engineering and that's where I came in.
EDIT:
One thing that that I noticed that was a suprize to me (and I know this is subjective) I expected it to be noisier because of the brace telegraphing sound up fron the floor but It actually got quieter... In the transitions between gears ther was "less bump" and all the popping and groaning from the trunk (this car is stripped out hollow) seemed to be much less.Comment
