Thats what one would think, but again, vacuum and boost are very different systems.
If it takes energy to move air, the energy to move air in a boosted system comes from the compressor. And you'd think equally, the force to move air into a vacuum (on NA engine) is based on the positive pressure outside the vacuum but its not. Its from the greater negative value which is at the valves.
And yes, the faster air moves in to fill the runners with air, the better, but the previously suggested theory about velocity a mile down the intake system is a bad one. It doesnt matter how pretty the tubes are, if they are choked up, its like sucking a golf ball through a garden hose.
That blue boot looks pretty darn good actually, if its for the m30 AFM. But at its most critical point, the bend, it gets pinched. Needs to be larger.Last edited by xLibelle; 11-24-2008, 06:11 AM.Comment

i thought the ribs in the boot were there to fix what you are talking about meaning the laminar flow interuption at the bend or is this not the case?
i am following you on the whole concept and certainly wouldnt argue with you on it (even if nobody else knows your qualifications i do) but can you offer a definitive explanation and solution.Comment

I just want a pretty red or blue hose that looks cool, and fits the same color scheme as my bitchin' cold air intake.
I heard that those new super low friction throttle cables give you quicker response too. As long as it is the same color, I want one!

Shouldn’t he be thankful we care enough to want to know how his products can help improve our E30's?

Who he is in person, in front of his friends and wife is irrelevant.
To us, he is a vender on R3V. From what I've read so far on him, (I probably missed some points) he could very well be the most knowledgeable person here. Considering he is a vender on top of that, he needs to put his money where his mouth is and show us the data.
On a side note, how does your LCAB brace supposed to improve two of the strongest points on the E30 and more importantly, make a difference?Comment
