Ha, "sage" might be a little much, but I certainly cannot deny having too many years of M42 ownership. MM stuff is pretty good...I highly recommend the 2.1L M42 to anyone who wants to burn way too much money to get a 200bhp 4 cylinder lol.finally get to see "the sage of m42" 's car. i lurk your posts specifically for concise, definitive answers on my drivetrain.
never knew you came up with the COP thing! thanks for your contributions to the community.
i'm obsessed with MM stuff, jealous that you have one in your chariot.
Thanks! It's a pretty good DD overall.
Thanks!
I will try to remember to get some more photos of the interior. The upholstery was done back in ~2010 by Creative Options, which I think stopped doing business a while ago. It's unfortunate...the material and stitching are really awesome, and the fit was perfect.
Thanks, yeah the engine is a lot of fun. The 7.4lb flywheel helps, although the engine will periodically stall coming off the throttle if I am working the power steering too hard at the same time lol. I need a second tune for autocross that keeps the idle at 1200RPM to avoid that lol.
Thanks!
It is a good time to drive it, for sure. The intake manifold was MM (it is their "pulse chamber" design), but the MAF and M30 air box were 100% custom projects that I did myself.
Ha, well the car is still nominally red, but definitely faded from 11 years ago. I am afraid to wax it now...the paint is wearing through in a few spots. Needs more paint. I wish I had the time to properly revamp my website and update it, but at this point I think I have documented more stuff here on r3v!
Thanks!
Thanks. Yeah the interior is pretty nice...I need to keep it that way to make up for the exterior (which looks mostly fine in the pics, but it's a little rough up close and in person!).Comment
