I've run less then perfect cams before, but more in a "send it and see what happens" fashion rather then buying in that condition...

It sounds like you got that in writing. Hopefully seller stays true to his word if it comes to that.

Yes, via eBay messaging, it was stated, I'll take upclose pics & post them & someday when I find someone I'll post that. So far no one wants the job..


I went to assemble the struts to install the new suspension & don't have the boots or bump stops, First Konis, didn't know they weren't included.






The Racing Dynamics CAI came, missing hardware & the boot to connect it to the MAF is way too small. I contacted them & Frankensteined it.

Cams are going back to the seller. After 3 days of being sent to another shop & getting back to the first one, I found a shop willing (for 150/hr x8) to do the job, then I asked about the scoring, first they said none is ok, then maybe depending on how bad it is. Between the cost & possibility it will be a mess I called FedEx, requested they return to sender & created a return on eBay, seller isn't happy.

For almost 2500, I'm 1/2 way to a new SC for MAYBE 20hp, NO!

New black kidneys, shift knob & boots for the shifter & parking brake, need a new leather handle before I scrape the current one off the brake.

Did the brake boot after I found I can get handles like the one I have for 40 or a new one for 120, I conditioned mine.

I changed the plugs & cold compression tested and got a high of 195 & low of 187.5 two were 190 & one was 192.5. The swing is 7.5 well under 10% difference so it's good no?

Transmission & differential oil going in, hopefully, shocks too.

I had the "right" oils from Amsoil, got under there and found this:

I called BMW, gave my VIN. They said I need

mtf lt2 the transmission model is s5d320z, they said it needs 75-80 ZF PN 83222339219 But it seems it needs much lower viscosity ATF

differential saf x j 75-90 PN 83222357992

I'm really confused.
